Yes to first question, for a demon can work and speak through a person anywhere where it has control through the person, that's why we need the gift of discerning of spirits in operation to know what spirit it is. I don't believe that all schizophrenics are demon possessed.
"How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power, who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil, for God was with Him."
There are many that need healing, and some of the sickness/diseases is of the devil.

Regarding the schizophrenia question, in some cases its a sickness, in other cases, a demon - discerning of spirits again is essential to know the difference. Once thing I often ask a person who does not believe in the existence of the devil - "When people like the Son of Sam who kill people say they hear voices - how come the voices always tell them to do something -bad-?"
