"Joseph, Mary, and
Mathias' Story" Be a Hero-Rescue this Child Dear Friends of
Prepare the Way Ministry, Deep in the village of Nakaseeta, Uganda lived
a happy little family. There was a loving mother and father with three beautiful
children. The lives of Mathias Kakooza age 5 years, Mary Mbabazi age 3 years,
and Joseph Kaweesi age 1 year; were suddenly disrupted forever. The death of the
young mother left the kind but disabled father to care for his now orphaned
children. Although as time passed, the grief
in the heart of the father began to lessen; he continued to be very lonely. He
also began to realize that he could not provide all the nurturing his children
needed. The father began looking for a wife who he could share his life with. He
found a woman who had also lost her husband, and she had children of her own.
At
the beginning, the relationship was not so bad. It wasn’t too long, however,
until the father began to see that his new wife did not love or care about his
children. She favored her own with the best that the household could provide.
The father was unable to work due to his accident which left him disabled. He
began to stay close to home because when he left, the wife mistreated his
children. They were physically, emotionally, and verbally abused during his
absence. His children were forced to sleep on the dirt floor at night, while her
children slept in beds. Little Mathias, Mary, and Joseph developed jiggers from
being in contact with the dirty floor all night. The insects burrowed deep into
their skin causing a great amount of pain. One of our nurses, lovingly and
carefully removed all of the jiggers from the children.
The
children had all joined the Village Scholarship Program at King’s Kids Learning
Center which provides free meals and education to qualifying village children.
The family lived quite a distance from the school, but the father was so
committed to his children that he took them to and from school each day on his
bicycle.
With
deep compassion in our hearts, we brought the children into Hope Children’s
Home. The joy in the eyes of the father and oldest boy spoke volumes. With tears
in our eyes, we were able to be a part of changing their world and future. Each
child now has their own bed, mattress, bed sheets, blanket, and mosquito net.
Simple things that we take for granted, are cherished items to these
children. Mathias, Mary, and Joseph are such tender, precious children.
They are filled with love, and now have the opportunity to experience the love
of God. Their faces are never without a smile. The Lord has turned their sorrow
into joy. Joseph and Mary have already been sponsored, but Mathias, the
7 year old, is still waiting for someone to choose him. Please, prayerfully
considering being a hero to Mathias, and rescuing his life. If interested,
contact us.
Thank
you for faithfully supporting and praying for Prepare the Way Ministry. We feel
the wind of the Holy Spirit as you lift us up before the throne of God. In the
dark nation of Uganda, there is regular spiritual attack in every area of
ministry. Please continue to pray for us, and never let down your
guard.
Together, we are pushing back the darkness, and revealing God’s
glorious light. That the whole world may know, Pastors Bill and Linda
Campbell
