Scales are as poles.
A scale is what we use to measure things by.
Our measurement is how we gage reality. It is our vision.
Another word for scale is a balance.
A balance in monetary terms is what someone owes.
If I hold others to my account, to pay every last penny,
one side of the scale is weighted down and my
vision becomes skewed.
The side that is weighted down holds the "log."
The other side of the scale holds the "splinter."
Poles create distortions.
