He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. Psalm 91:4 (NIV)
I caught a glimpse of this verse Sunday. During service pastor had the elders and leaders in the aisles praying for those who needed prayer. I felt a large darkness over-shadow the congregation. When I looked up, I could see a wing, and it’s feathers. It left a sense of peacefulness and safety.

That's awesome - love the way He shows us things.

Do you think God actual has wings? Some people talk of hearing His heart beat does He actual have a heart beat or are these all metaphors?

He puts it in terms so we can understand. Like Matt 3:16 "And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water:
and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God
descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:"
Yahweh is Spirit yet can be beyond what we think of as Spirit.
Normally we think of darkness as from the enemy but Yahweh is trying to get us out of our box kind of thinking and relying on Him more. We already know the enemy has counterfits. So it's going to take us not drawing conclusions based on earlier mindsets and asking Yahweh about it. This way we're humbling ourselves, not relying on our way of thinking, and getting The Truth from Him.

Thanks Brenda for explaining. Some of the metaphors can be quiet sweet. Like when He mentions go come sit on His lap, to rest in His arms, this all brings such peace. It would be nice to be able to physically do all this with Him. My pastor was telling me that in the after life things feel just as real as here. He told me that our spirit is our spiritual body. And things in Heaven feel just as real and solid as here. They are just in a different realm then us.

Earlier today, I was led to a page in a book I have (of prophetic words).
This word was entitled:
(for your discernment:)
Stay Beneath My Wing
"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,
Nor shall the flame scorch you."
Isaiah 43:2
My people: Will I create, and will I not have it in My power to destroy? Is it
not written that the potter breaks one vessel that He may shape a new
one (see Jeremiah 18:4)? Will I not do likewise? Yes, I will bring My will to
pass, and man will know that his will is like a broken straw when pitted
against the Almighty.
But My people will know the protection of their God. Because their heart
is stayed upon Jehovah, I will keep them in My pavilion and shelter them
until the calamity passes.
If I removed you from the scene, you would have no testimony of My
miraculous delivering power. Stay beneath My wings, and I will make you
a tower of strength to which the fearful may run and find safety.
(found in the book "Come Away My Beloved" by Frances J. Roberts)
