"like seed sown along the path"
"like seed sown on rocky places."
"like seed sown among thorns."
"like seed sown on good soil."
I could see...
The lake
The large crowd along the shoreline at the water's edge
Jesus, the teacher, moved by the crowd that had gathered, moving from the
shore to the boat
Jesus taught many things by parables...you have a life parable, a story that
reflects your lessons in discipleship.
Listen...He speaks. His words are the source of your strength.
A farmer went out to sow...The farmer's action of sowing shows his intended
purpose. He is out to sow seed.
He is sowing His seed. It is in his possession and he is sowing into our
hearts.
He scatters the seed in all directions. He throws it out far and wide. He holds
nothing back. With gracious abandonment, he releases the seed into
different environments.
In the continued action of scattering...
the seed is taken from the pouch,
into his hand,
the seed is slung into the air,
over and over again.
See the order of the farmer's consistent action.
What muscles are being used as he sows?
What are his thoughts toward you?
Where does he walk? Word!
He is speaking to a heart that sows continuously.
He is speaking to a heart that stands at the waters edge.
The birds are flying.
The seed is falling.
The farmer is sowing.
Hard paths have less seed if any.
Hard paths are barren and lifeless.
Hard paths expose the seed to prey.
Seed is there. Seed is gone. He sows on.
Break up the hard path.
Shallow soil is better but not best.
Shallow soil has boulders beneath that stop the root.
Joy comes for a moment but the scorching sun burns out the life.
Rocks radiate and magnify the heat and the tender small leaves wither.
These are tender leaves that will never see fruit.
They are dried up and toasted brown. Don't fall away.
It is has the color of death by heat with no relief.
It sprang up quickly.
It withered in a heated moment.
Thorns prick at the skin and draw blood.
Weeds choke the thriving plant.
Abundant weeds suck out abundant life.
Is there someone pulling out the weeds without disturbing the plant?
No grain but much pain. You are removing the choking vines. The thorns bite
but grace heals.
Good soil is nurtured soil. The life of the soil is the life of the plant.
The fruit is filled with what has come from it. It produces life and imparts life
long after the farmer has left.
It is the seeds purpose to produce fruit that contains seed for generations to
come.
30x 10...60x 20...100x 30...Your seed multiplied by hundreds will move
nations to the heart of God.
Blessings
Byron

Thank you Byron, I'm reading through the Bible again and have reached Matthew, I read the parable of the sower recently and it was so fresh and meant so much more than previously!

Frances...I have come alive to the power of parable and it's impact on our
discipleship. Thank you for sharing!
