When I was a child we would play with the neighborhood kids in the afternoons after school.  Around 4 p.m. we would hear a bell ringing, getting closer and closer.  And all of us ran for home to get nickels and dimes for our afternoon treat.  The  Ice Cream Truck was coming. 

Can you imagine how surprised and disappointed we would be if, just as we reached the window to get our ice cream, the truck drove away--with us hearing the laughter of the driver who would taunt us but then refuse to treat us.  No, it never happened.  When the presence of the truck was there, the ice cream was there.

When the manifest presence of God is in our midst, He is there to treat us--with the blessings of answered prayer, healings, words of comfort, instruction and guidance--with the ice cream of the Father.  But do we trust Him?  Do we truly believe He is there for us?  For us to reach out to Him?

The next time the Triune God manifests Himself and you sense His presence in your midst, don't let another opportunity slip away,  Don't lose your blessing by standing in your yard, coins in hand, but with doubts about the faithfulness and generous love of our Abba Father.  Your ice cream is waiting.
