The Verdict Saved Her Marriage

INDIA  -- Sruti knew the verdict had saved her marriage. Atul, her husband, wanted a divorce because of her recent conversion to Christianity. Both grew up worshipping spirits, but when Sruti became bedridden and her husband continued his heavy drinking, they turned to the church for answers-Sruti genuinely was seeking, while Atul wanted only that his wife get relief from her sickness.

Pastor Sudhir first met the couple during the time Sruti was facing the severe back pain that had left her bedridden. After he invited them to church, the couple attended hoping for healing. Pastor Sudhir prayed over Sruti, and within only a few days the Lord had healed her!

With strength regained, Sruti began attending church and witnessing to others about the healing in her life. Yet Atul opposed her conversion. He had used the church for temporary gain, and sought to divorce his wife for receiving Jesus into her heart.

As was custom, the chief of the village rounded up the elders for a meeting. Sruti explained the miraculous healing of her back to the elders, who in turn were amazed! The chief then announced the verdict-divorce was not an option.

Immediately after this, Sruti continued to attend church and share the Gospel with others. She now visits homes and tells them the miracle that God did in her life. Through her perseverance, many have gradually come to know the love of Jesus.

The verdict saved Sruti's marriage-but only God can save her husband. Please pray for Atul to receive Jesus, and for the Lord to use people like Pastor Sudhir to reach the lost in India and throughout Asia with the Gospel.
