The new program, called http://gsntv.com/shows/the-american-bible-challenge/ - "The American Bible Challenge," is scheduled to premier this Thursday at 8 p.m. on the Game Show Network and will be hosted by comedian Jeff Foxworthy.

"It's not like 'Jeopardy!' where it's about knowledge," Troy Schmidt, a consulting producer, told the Orlando Sentinel. "It's not like 'Wheel of Fortune,' where it's about luck. I would say there's comedy, which separates it from most game shows. But it's charitable."

"You get wrapped up in the contestants and who they're trying to help," he explained. "It has a heart aspect that other game shows don't. Other game shows are about playing and tension of who's going to win."

Schmidt noted that Foxworthy, who also hosts Fox's "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?," is definitely an asset to the new show.

"He's used to being in front of an audience that long doing a stand-up routine," Schmidt told the Sentinel. "He's also a believer. He does a lot of charitable things. We talked about his Bible study that he does for homeless guys."

Foxworthy talks more about the new program, on CBN Newswatch, Aug. 22. Check your local listings or check CBNNews.com after 5 p.m. ET for the interview.
