Revival, Miracles in China during Bible Deliveries
Teresa Neumann (Nov 28, 2012)

"When the miracles take place, there's a chance people will go to superstition unless they have a Bible to ground their faith. It was really a great blessing to hand a Bible to everyone in that church at the same time that they're in the midst of all this revival based on some of these miracles." -Barry Werner, Bibles for China

(China)—Barry Werner of Bibles for China recently traveled to that country to hand deliver 30,000 Bibles to rural believers. Though the number of Bibles was barely enough to make a dent in the enormous demand for the Word, a Revival nevertheless broke out with multiple conversions and healings, such as a boy born mute who regained his voice and a woman whose hair grew back after losing it decades ago.

Healing sparked revival in one remote area: Werner spoke with two people about a man born mute who regained his speech, and a woman who lost all her hair in China's ten-year Cultural Revolution. Werner says their stories reminded him of the apostles' claims to be "eyewitnesses" of Jesus' death and resurrection.

The presence of the officials at first made the team "second-guess" the words they would publicly use, but in the end "they decided to speak exactly what God had laid upon their hearts." The end result was that two of the four officials showed interest in learning more about Jesus.

In fact, one of the officials was a high-level person who reportedly went to his supervisor first before accepting a Bible from the team. When he was granted permission he was "just overwhelmed" and clutched it to his chest upon receiving it.

The report notes that recipients of the Bible normally read it cover-to-cover within 6 weeks, and then pass it on to someone else.

Speaking about the emotions involved in distributing the Bibles, Werner said, "When you hand a Bible to a person who has never had one, that's where the emotional part is a little bit overwhelming at times."
