UPDATE Aug.20: While President Obama has not taken a public opinion on Egypt's crackdown on the violent protests of the Muslim Brotherhood, it was http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/08/20/claim-egypt-aid-c ut-off-fuels-confusion-over-administration-po licy/ - reported on Tuesday that the "administration has temporarily suspended most of the $1.3 billion in military aid [for Egypt], as well as the delivery of weapons and economic aid amid a review of the financial support."

Sinai(Sinai)—A Bloomberg.com report details the effort Israel has made lately to assist the Egyptian security forces in their crackdown against the violent acts of the Muslim Brotherhood.

According to the account, attacks made by supporters of the ousted Islamist president Morsi have "intensified," and on Monday, at least 26 Egyptian policemen were killed in the violence.

The Islamist militants also reportedly claimed responsibility for the recent rocket attack in the Israeli city of Eilat.

Retired Israeli Army intelligence colonel, Ephraim Kam noted, “Over the last month we’ve seen both a rise in Jihadist elements operating in Sinai and improved cooperation between the Israeli and Egyptian militaries to counter this.”

And former Israeli ambassador to Cairo, Eli Shaked pointed out that quashing the Muslim Brotherhood’s rampage is in both Egypt and Israel’s interests.

Egyptian soldier"Their security forces are also being targeted," said Shaked, "and they have to be worried by the possibility that rockets being fired on Israel could the next day be aimed at the Suez Canal."

Meanwhile, President Obama’s cancelation of the US annual joint military operations with Egypt is causing concern for those supporting an Egyptian government free of Islamic rule.

"Egypt is the most important strategic ally the U.S. has in the Arab world and the military wants to create a pro-Western regime instead of an Islamic dictatorship," said Zvi Mazel, an ex-ambassador to Egypt. "Obama’s hesitation to support the Egyptian military only encourages the Muslim Brotherhood’s intransigence and I assume we are doing all we can to get this message across in Washington and Europe."
