Ps 97:5-6 - The hills melted like wax at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth. The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory.

It’s time for us to get our eyes off the stage of man, the circuits of man, the names of man, the ministries of man, the numbers, the statistics, the ways and movement of man and to seek the Lord. I am appreciative of all God has bestowed in the people of God in ministry and gifts, but sometimes man becomes so big it’s hard to see Jesus.

In the serious times that we face, another parade of personalities is not going to help us – another name-brand-man or woman is not going to help us – another time of short-lived inspiration is not going to help us – we need something solid – something Rock – something to stand upon – Someone out of this world – Someone sitting at the right hand of the Father, making intercession for the saints. We need Jesus now, more than ever!

We are seriously running out of time to get it right with God and serve Him rather than ourselves.

Today, the definition of Glory is shallow compared to heaven’s definition. A true spiritual encounter with God’s Glory would level a man and his pride, kill his flesh, and purify his heart and lips.  A true encounter with God’s Glory would bring man to his knees and bring people to their knees in deep repentance.

Any encounter with God is not about “us getting God’s Glory” but about “God getting glory out of us.”

Somehow we have the idea that God’s presence is all about us feeling something really good or experiencing some supernatural manifestations every time we encounter Him.  The Word of God records countless times when God’s presence intersected man’s life on earth and it was always powerful, but not always what man would have expected on any occasion.

When did things get so mixed up that we have reduced God to a Being that manifests in our presence, to validate our message and deeds?

What has been passed off as the presence of God is so shallow compared to the holiness, might and majesty of our creator.

God was not created for our pleasure – we were created for His pleasure.

Col 1:16 - For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

Rev 4:11 - Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

We must come before our God, destitute in and of ourselves, stricken with the deepest need of God’s continuing work in our lives.  If we think we have arrived, then God help us all – we will forfeit the greatest hour of the Church to shine in this dark season of man.
