We are in the midst of an Indian summer, so I took advantage of our nice
mid-November weather. In walking the dogs we went to the edge of a small
pond. There were several of the smaller frogs jumping into the water as we
approached. I was surprised by what I found. Looking into the water I also
saw a few polliwogs swimming about. I’m not sure why I used that term, as
growing up I called them tadpoles. I’m no naturalist, but I am aware that
polliwogs are found in the spring. I asked, Why am I seeing polliwogs, so
out of season?

I heard this explanation:
Be like these polliwogs. Despite what may seem natural, they are growing.
Like you, they are not yet what they will be when fully matured. They are
active, in the water of my spirit. You too are in a time of transition.

Be ready for there are things which I will present for you.

We too had an Indian Summer-just this week the temps moved down out of the 60's...Surprising to see we have crocus coming up here...I did a double take as I drove by some blooming in a commercial developement landscape...They are the first spring flower we see come up, usually March...  Am hearing, "the former & latter rain falling ALL at once." BE READY!

Hi Steven!
I was just discussing the little frogs with an elderly lady friend of mine. I think they are called toads out here. Well we were saying how they used to be around until they started spraying the air with insecticides due to "West Nile". That is the plague thing from those mosquitos that are infected. We were also saying that the spray must have killed every insect because we didn't see any lightning bugs (or fire flies) this summer.
Good word

Yes Elaine, I've noticed the very dwindled population of summer lightening bugs from when I was younger. I did notice a few more this summer in our Ohio area, but nowhere near the volumes of past years.

I did read that there are varieties of polliwogs/tadpoles, those that are toads, as you said, and those who become frogs.

We have had some things bloom twice this year I think...the summer was long and extra warm out east here...and then finally plenty of rain this fall...I have heard that nature will sometimes have double 'nestings' if you will...in a warm year...giving itself an extra boost.

The Lord pointed out 'transition' to you Steven...seeming to say...stay close to and listening to Him...as we continue to be equipped for all He has for us.

I wonder if we really read the final statement:

Be ready for there are things which I will present for you.

Don't be blind to the possibilites of God. Stop relying upon your own inadequacies.
