Very sweet word, Kriston. I appreciate your tender heart toward the body of Christ. It had concerned me when I was perceiving from what I was getting from different messengers that the belief was no longer in the five-fold gifts that God put in scripture. And as much as I honor and revere different people in the body of Christ, I have to stand on scripture and not whatever is the current fad in "Christiandom". And yet when I heard you explain your meaning, it put my mind to rest (not sure others are of the same meaning, but I definitely appreciated hearing where your motivation and heart was to the body as a whole). I do agree with you with that meaning. I go to a church that is very healthy in that aspect where the pastor encourages leadership among the members and also encourages people to seek the right place to attend actually telling them that our church may not be where God leads them (not many pastors are known for that). And the Bible is very clear that all the parts working in correct function build up the whole body, and the body is built through love and service, not in dominion and coercion. I do believe God is getting ready to do a great work in the body, not by getting rid of things he has placed in the body for our nurturing, but by having His TRUE work accomplished through the body through love and the ministering service which has been in His heart for all of His precious children all along.
