Observations on the Feast of Tabernacles – Paradigm Shifts and the Kingdom of God

mailto:werhis@ida.net -

Once the Church gets wind of the fact that it must be governed by the principles of the Kingdom of God in order to prosper, everything will change.   It is hard not to worry about the guys that are cheating when one is still afraid of getting hurt.  Inevitably, those ruled by fear will unwittingly disqualify themselves trying to maintain proper order in the flesh

But those who are genuinely born again, and have truly seen the Kingdom are no longer motivated or provoked by the “cheaters”, because they “see that their day is coming.” (Psalm 37:13)  The Feast of Tabernacles is about moving into a new mindset that causes us to rest in hope that He who began the work will finish it.

As we enter into God’s rest we will access a new place of authority with Lord and start cooperating with His Kingdom agenda.  The grace to see the kingdom, and enter the kingdom, will soon become a grace to establish the kingdom.  “Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven.”

But we must understand the wisdom of God.  The cross and resurrection of Jesus are the ultimate paradigms of Kingdom victory.  In the cross Jesus embraced powerlessness and allowed his body to be slain by the tyranny of darkness.  With His submission to the will of God the dynamics of the Kingdom of God “kicked in” and Jesus was raised from the dead and His enemies were routed.

One of the ways of God is to veil His victories and magnify His defeats.  God uses this “technique” to distinguish those who believe His word from those who don’t.  The Lord allows the illusion that evil is winning the war of ultimate power.  This is always a key test for God’s saints.  Will those who follow the Lord lose their confession and start playing by the rules of the world or will they maintain their confession and continue to live by the principles of the Kingdom?

The Church is on the verge of an awakening to the power of submission to the will of God; in a word, meekness.   When it does, it will enter into conflict with the powers of darkness at an unprecedented level of authority.  Sudden shifts of power will happen with lightning speed.  Can a city be won in a day” will become the byline of many stories as God’s people begin to see and truly believe that nothing is impossible with the Lord.

Expectant and jubilant,

 - Brian Harrison
