Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said Iran is the biggest challenge the Jewish state faces at home.

Some Israelis believe Netanyahu and others in the country are talking more about the issue in hopes of getting world leaders more involved in diluting the conflict.

Gen. Martin Dempsey, U.S. chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, even recently said the United States doesn't view Iran's threat with the same urgency as Israel.

Israel is "living with an existential concern that we are not living with," Dempsey told reporters after arriving in Afghanistan Sunday.

"You can take two countries, give them the same intelligence, and reach two different conclusions. I think that's what's happening here," he said, adding that he and IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz talk regularly on Iran.

CBN News Middle East Bureau Chief Chris Mitchell will talk more about Israel's concern with Iran and how the rest of the world is responding, on CBN Newswatch, Aug. 20. Click play for his comments.
