We spend more time talking about the evil of the nation and decry the actions of sinners…but what about prayer?

We meet for church and sing our songs, but what about prayer?

We hear the Word of God, Sunday after Sunday, but what about prayer?

We hold our annual business meetings to set the house in order for the next year, but what about prayer?

We have youth meetings, women’s meetings, men’s meetings, children’s church, Bible Studies, but what about prayer?

With the level of evil that is being released on our earth and our nation’s states, I ask again, what about prayer?

Can we council demons?

Can we instruct evil?

Can we committee warfare?

What about prayer?

I am not talking about the kind of prayer that dribbles off our lips, but the kind of prayer that erupts from our hearts and emits from our lips.

  • I am talking about the kind of prayer that knows that the wall it faces is the enemy and keeps on pushing through.
  • I am talking about the kind of prayer that does not sleep nor grow weary.
  • I am talking about the kind of prayer that does not need to feel great to pray, but prays because it does not feel great.
  • I am talking about the kind of prayer that moves heaven’s hand and shakes hells gates.
  • I am talking about the kind of prayer that took place in the Garden of Gethsemane that prayed when the cost was so great.
  • I am talking about the kind of prayer that makes no deals or compromises but states the Word of God as it is.
  • I am talking about the kind of prayer that stands between the living and the dead and intercedes for the dying.
  • I am talking about the kind of prayer that will not let go of the horns of the altar.
  • I am talking about the kind of prayer that does not have to be seen to be done or heard by man to be answered.
  • I am talking about prayer that stretches its hands to the heavens and cries out, “God, come down and visit us!”

Isa 64:1- Oh that you would rend the heavens, that you would come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence,

If we would cry out to God, what would happen?

Yes, our nation is in turmoil, laden with unrighteousness and in need of an awakening, one that would bring a nation to its knees, but are we praying or just talking about how bad it is?

How we love to dissect the issues. How we love to stand clean in our own sight, while the greatest sin is that we are not praying, we are not repenting, we are not seeking God, we are not crying out for mercy.

It is sinful to speak of such degradation and sin and never lift a voice to heaven to beseech God to intervene and show His power.

Someone has to stand in the gap where the gates of hell have opened.

  • Are we not the church?
  • Are we not the blood-washed?
  • Are we not the ones with garments of salvation?

The moment you place your feet on the floor in the morning, the fact that you are awake and have risen should shake the corridors of hell with fear – not because you are so great or mighty, but because the blood of Jesus and His name in, on and through you is so great. You should shake hell because you are obedient, committed, repentant, submitted, yielded, humble servants of the Most High God.

What if we as believers everywhere across this great nation humbled ourselves and raised our voices over this great nation, crying out for God in humility and repentance…what if…?
