A State of Desperation

by Lonnie Mackley Mar. 19th, 2014

2CO 1:8 We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about the hardships we suffered in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired even of life.

Many of the wilderness remnant are experiencing a profound state of desperation right now with overwhelming trials, sicknesses, financial needs, and relationship issues. They are desperate to hear from God, and desperate for relief from their seemingly unbearable situations. And on top of all this, God’s presence and voice seems very far away right now. But this only “seems” that way.

2CO 1: 9 Indeed, in our hearts we felt the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead.

The Lord has actually been bringing us to a state of greater faith and repentance through what appears to be an unending nightmare of difficulties. It’s time to seek God in a deeper way through prayer and worship whether you feel like it or not, or whether you have had much success in the past. If you will pray, the Lord will meet you in a new way now, and breakthrough will finally come.

1PE 5:10 And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. 11 To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.

Deborah, never feel embarrassed about needing your brothers and
sisters to hold you up in prayer. I have a friend who has gone through
horrendous stuff over a course of several years. And even David in the
Bible was going through constant stuff and we read his travail even in the
Psalms. Just think, though, if you are going through all that, you must
have something that is marking you to make Satan try so desperately to
stop you. We speak that angels will minister to you, the Holy Spirit would
comfort you and God would strengthen you in Christ. We are standing with
you. Even the great men of old had times of discouragement or tiredness
with their journey, David and Elijah just being a couple of examples. God
WILL see you through, and I am looking forward to giving you a big hug in
heaven because in different times, your words have been a strength and
encouragement to me. I will continue to pray for you. You sre strong in the
Lord and in the power of His might. The Lord is your strength!

((Debs)) when I read your post I was like I sho can relate to that.  And then I heard, "but I reckon that the suffering of this present time are not worthy to be compared to the glory that shall be revealed."  And I sat a little longer and one of my favorite songs came bubbling up so I'm sharing it with you.  The song is I'm in His Safety (from Psalm 91) by Lecresia Campbell.

Enjoy and be comforted by His loving presence.
