JERUSALEM - The Israel Defense Forces released a photo showing the trajectory and impact point of four Hamas rockets, two of which landed in the Gaza Strip killing nine Palestinian children, Israel says.

According to a press release, IDF radars and sensors detected the four rockets. One hit the al-Shifa Hospital, one hit the Shati refugee camp, one landed in the Mediterranean Sea, and one was intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system on its way to the Israeli city of Ashkelon.

The one that hit near the hospital was blamed for at least two injuries. The one in the refugee camp was blamed for the deaths of at least nine Palestinian children who were playing outside.

"The IDF had nothing to do with the incident in Shifa," IDF spokesman Lt. Col. Peter Lerner said. "What it is is a failed launch by Hamas terrorists in Gaza that actually struck the hospital and also the refugee camp," he said.

According to Lerner, since the beginning of the military operation the IDF has identified some 200 cases of "failed launchings" in which the Hamas rockets actually struck within the Gaza Strip.

According to Hamas sources in the Gaza Strip, the death toll is more than 1,100. But some Israeli experts say those figures are misleading.

Palestinian Affairs expert Pinhas Inbari, with the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, told CBN News about one-third of those casualties are actually terrorists and another third were Palestinians killed by Hamas rockets.

Earlier, the Hamas Interior Ministry issued guidelines for social media users.

According to an article published in MEMRI (LINK) the instructions included making sure to call all Palestinian dead "innocent civilians" and to make sure not to post pictures of Hamas rockets being fired from within the civilian population centers.
