Dramatic Solar Eclipse Seen by Millions over UK and Europe Called "Breathtaking"

"It seems to me that God does use natural events to signal His love—it's not about trying to smash people with the hammer of judgment and stuff. The Judeo-Christian view is He cares." –Bob O'Dell, Root Source

You would have had to book a flight to the Faroe Islands, or Svalbard to witness the rare solar eclipse in its totality. In fact, the epicenter—if you will—of today's eclipse happened over a "spot in the Norwegian Sea, a little below the Arctic Circle," according to a BBC News report. But those in northern Europe, and the UK were also treated to a "breathtaking" spectacle in the sky as the partial solar eclipse did not disappoint.

Prof Giles Harrison told the BBC: "This is the first big partial eclipse to happen in the UK since 1999, and the next one isn't until August 2026, so this is a once-in-a-generation opportunity.

"By observing what happens on Friday we are effectively turning the skies of Britain into a giant weather lab, giving us a rare chance to see what happens when you 'turn down the Sun'". (Photo via BBC/PA)

Coming at celestial events from a Biblical perspective, Bob O'Dell, co-founder of Root Source—along with Orthodox Jew Gidon Ariel—notes of the recent blood moons and solar eclipse:

"In my experience, the worst things happen before the blood moons, not after. [The lunar and solar eclipses are] "almost like the opening and closing of a chapter... big picture religious meaning."

O'Dell added in the Times of Israel report, "It seems to me that God does use natural events to signal His love—it's not about trying to smash people with the hammer of judgment and stuff. The Judeo-Christian view is He cares."
