Report from a Pastor in Democratic Republic of Congo

An unedited on the Ground View

Dear servant of God,

God is staying closer to us regardless of the circumstances around us
in Beni/DRC. And I believe that God’s protection to us and His
blessings are the results of your prayer support.

We have now sad news in Beni town. Last Saturday at night more than
90 people were killed by machetes by those who might be ADF-NALU in
Beni town. These people who were killed were living at North Eastern
part of the town. And other people were kidnapped and houses were
burned. I am based in the Northern part of the town were 9 people
were killed last year, 2015, at 100 meters from where I am living.

We had again sad news last Monday as soon as I finished teaching our
Bible Institute Students on the second day of the study. I have
taught them part one and two. And if God allows I will teach them
part three next Monday as I will be concluding this study that has
three parts. We heard that these rebels were planning to kill people in the area
in which I am living. As soon as we were told, we ran away in the area
in which there are living many people.

So right now I am living with one member of our church in his home and
it is now impossible to have our Christian meetings in the building in
which we had been having them.

May you pray for us that we can get the possibility for renting a room
in this area in which many people are living in which we will always
have our pray services including the training of Bible Institute
students. And we would like to equip this room with 500 plastic
chairs because we are praying God to send us 500 people who will be
attending our prayer services. And we would like to equip this room
with musical instruments.

The hearts of people Great North Kivu ( Beni town, Beni territory,
Butembo, and Lubero territory ) are now filled with fear. 2207 had
been killed since 2014 in the above areas until now. So if we get the
possibility preaching and teaching on the radio; we will start
encouraging these people as we teach them messages that will increase
their faith. And we would like to multiply evangelical missions as we
strengthen people with the Word of God.

God bless you abundantly.

Dear servant of God

Thank you for praying for the program of training Bible Institute
students. Although we have not yet get a permanent room which
we will always have our weekly prayer services; I am allowed to
train intercessors and Bible Institute students every Monday in one
of evangelical church Building.

God is good and has a plan for His people regardless of
circumstances. 43 Bible Institute Students finished the study. I
concluded the study yesterday,Monday

I would like to share with you some words within the material that I
taught to our Bible Institute students.
The study “Decisional Regeneration” has been a blessing and a
challenge to our Bible Institute Students including me. We have
discovered that modern churches have introduced their canal inventions
like baptism regeneration, altar calls regeneration, answering a group
of questions as they assure people that if they practice these acts
including other human methods of evangelism, they have a new birth.
They tell people to decide now (as soon as they finish preaching and
they assured them that they have been regenerated because of their
decision without telling them that this is God’s work. They tell
people that the work of regeneration is a work partly of man and
partly of God. And as a result, thousands of people are joining their
churches through these canal inventions. They are making only church
members not genuine converts. But if f our modern churches expect
God to bless their efforts and multiply their harvest, they must
forsake their canal inventions and again embrace the teaching of
scripture. Biblical evangelism means to “preach Christ crucified, unto
the Jews a stumbling block, and unto the Greeks foolishness, but unto
they that are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God,
and wisdom of God.
We must turn to Christ’s directions for counseling, preaching, and for
calling sinners to repentance and faith. Only then will our labors
bring glory to God, many sinners will be concerted for His glory.
“Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God
(John3:3). Our Lord Jesus Christ taught that the new birth is so
important that no one can see heaven without it. Mistakes concerning
this doctrine have been very destructive to the church of Christ. The
new birth is a spiritual change wrought in us, not an act performed by
us (vv.5-8). The apostle John states this so beautifully in his
Gospel, when he speaks of the children of God as “which were born, not
of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of
God”(v13).Regeneration, or the new birth, is God’s work by the Holy
Spirit in changing a sinner’s heart and bringing him to faith in Jesus
Christ. It is not something that man does or can do, but something
that God does.
May you continue to pray for our Bible Institute Students so that they
can have an understanding heart as they hear my teaching and as they
read God’s Word and study it. And may you pray for them including me
so that we can continue ministering to people Christ’s directions
guide us.
This study has been a reality that is now in churches in DRC and it
will enable us to be reformers of churches in our nation.
