Greg Laurie preachingGLENDALE, AZ (ANS -- October 14, 2016) -- More than 225 local pastors and para-church ministry representatives attended the Harvest America 2017 launch event at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ, on Oct. 6, where Southern California pastor and evangelist Greg Laurie spoke about his vision for the event, alongside Pastor John Collins and Pastor Jonathan Laurie.

Harvest Crusades with Greg Laurie recently announced plans to hold its annual Harvest America outreach in Phoenix, Ariz. on a newly revised date: Sunday June 11, 2017. The event date was changed to encourage even more participation by churches, both locally and nationally.

“Members of the Harvest staff also shared briefly regarding the various ways to be involved in Harvest America,” said a spokesperson for Harvest America. “Those who attended the launch were very engaged and enthusiastic about the upcoming event. Pastors Mark Martin, of Calvary Community Church, and Cal Jernigan, of Central Christian Church, spoke about the great opportunity it is to be a part of this evangelistic outreach.

“Designed to impact a country desperately in need of hope, the nationwide simulcast of the Harvest America outreach will be made available to thousands of host locations across the country. The North American Mission Board of Southern Baptists invited Greg Laurie to hold the national Harvest America outreach as a lead-in ‘Crossover’ event prior to their annual Southern Baptist Convention to be held that same week.”

Additional meetings are planned for early Nov. 2016, to allow the Harvest team to connect with those who could not join in the past meeting, to share more about Harvest America 2017 in Phoenix, and to explain exactly what can be done to get involved. Additional details will be made available at HarvestAmerica.com.

About Greg Laurie: With a trademark ability to present a clear gospel message in a culturally relevant format, drawing on the latest in current events, contemporary Christian music, and technology, Greg Laurie has been called the “evangelist of the future” by Billy Graham. In addition to founding the Harvest Crusades—the longest-running annual evangelistic outreach in U.S. history—Laurie also serves as senior pastor of one of the largest churches in America, Harvest Christian Fellowship, which has campuses in Riverside and Irvine, Calif., and Maui, Hawaii. He serves on the board of directors for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.

Billy Graham, says, “Greg Laurie is not only a personal friend, but is one of the great communicators of the gospel of Jesus Christ in our generation… I highly recommend him.”
