The Undercurrent Move of God - By Ron McGatlin
Just as there are rivers of current in the natural oceans there are undercurrents of spiritual movement in the vast ocean of churches and ministries. The surface of the ocean is the highly visible part of the churches and ministries. The surface rarely experiences times of placid waters and is most often covered with gentle waves of activities as the breeze interacts with the surface.
Occasionally the surface is greatly excited as strong winds create much dynamic activity. But even during the strongest winds there is an unbelievable calm below the surface. In the depths it is as if there was no turbulence. The turbulent scene of the visible surface is unheard in the depths.
Beneath the surface of praise and worship music in gatherings - below the dynamic ministry activities there is an awesome place of peace in God. In that place of peace the mighty works of God are effortless to us. It seems we are not in the reality of the things happening in the natural realm. We have truly come apart into a realm of peace beyond all understanding, as we observe ourselves move and speak effortlessly in the power and control of another. Miracles seem very natural to those who enter into the depth of the supernatural.
In this placid depth, movement does not readily appear to exist. But in reality there are powerful streams of current that are steadily moving without the noise and turbulence of the surface. In the natural world the climate and all areas of life that are affected by climate are changed by the movement of ocean currents.
So it is also in the spiritual. The unseen deep currents of God are flowing and bringing great change that is affecting the land and will bring significant change to all life. The world will not continue as it has been but must be reformed by the massive deep currents of God moving upon the earth.
Much of the surface may seem to some to be foolish or unnecessary frivolous activity as the Spirit wind blows upon the youth of the land. What may seem like silly manifestations are only the surface of the deep currents of God moving the world from a place of men's rule to the reality of the kingdom of God on earth.
The deep currents of God are moving us from religion based on the tree of knowledge to the tree of supernatural life by the Spirit - holy life in union with others and communion with God.
The world is being redeemed and through much tribulation we must enter the kingdom of God. The deeper currents are not always flowing through big name ministers. Often they are flowing deeper under the surface through relatively unknown men, women and young people who have given their all to carry the deeper current of the love of God to the nations of the world.
They go into the poor places of the world often to thrown away people - they pray weeping for sick children - they give and do all they can pouring out the love God has poured into them. In their passion God works miracles to feed the hungry - heal the sick and bring encouragement to the downtrodden.
Wherever these no name undercurrent people go the love of God brings healing into the hearts of people and the poor become rich with peace and joy. The hopeless become filled with the purpose of God and become powerful witnesses of the miracle working love and power of God that raises the dead.
These humble ministers don't need a title nor position. They are just ordinary folk who through much tribulation and brokenness have entered into the deep currents of God. Consumed by His love they become fountains of the liquid fire of God's love pouring out to the nations.
Look for the love - pursue love - it never fails.
