Hi just recently I have been finding it hard to sleep (Don't ask I dunno why lol.) but listening to music helps carm me down and ease me into sleep but that's not my question. My question is the following "Does God Mind If I Am Listening To My iPod While I Pray?" it's not regilous music that I have on my iPod it's just my usual music that I have on my iPod although if you have listend to "Flyleaf" that band was inspired by God and has turned alot of people to reading the Bible and to God but anyway back to my question. "Does God Mind If I Listening To Random Music On My iPod While I Am Praying At Night Time?"

I think when we pray we should give our full attention to God. After we pray we should be still and listen for the voice of God. He wants to talk back to us. A conversation is never one way. Expect God to talk back to you. Expect God to answer you. Listen for His voice. This is just my opinion. God bless you Matthew!!

Hi thank you I can defently see that because if I have music on while I pray I'm not paying enough attention as if I was going to talk to one of my friends they would think I was being rude If I was listening to my iPod while I was with them or having a conversation with them maybe god feels the same way that I'm being rude when I pray while I listen to my iPod.
I think I might be able to see why I'm not geting to sleep very well because God is trying to talk back to me but he can not since I have my iPod on and he is trying to keep me awake or somthing like that.
Thank you.

Matthew~
If you listen to some mellow music turned way down and in the background it is oftentimes more conducive for lifting oneself up into the atmosphere for praying. Check out this soaking music link to see what I mean. http://www.soaking.net/
If you find that to still be distracting then I would just shut it off after a period to time of listening to it to get your mind turned towards spiritual things as opposed to the wordly mindset, and then waiting upon the Lord in a time of stillness.
If you are newer to prayer you should know that it is a tough thing to learn especially with all of the distractions the enemy throws at you to keep you back from entering into that place where you can dialogue back and forth with the Lord. It is a process of stages so don't get frustrated or give up.....it is a pressing in and then learning how to relax once you have pressed in......smile.
Forgive me if this doesn't make sense lol it is just a bit after 4 am.
Blessings to you!
