I'm raising the following in order to provoke some thinking regarding what you may have been taught.
I underwent ministry by some "experts" a couple of years ago to clear myself of any generational curses in my life. The ministry was intensive, involving several sessions over a weekend. At the end of it I was exhausted but was assured that I was now clean.

Sorry, new post as no button to edit on previous post.
My question is this:
If Jesus didn't do this type of ministry why do we feel it necessary? Surely, if my old life died at rebirth then any curses attached to that life died with me. This new life I live is Christ in me and he has no curses attached to him, so doesn't it follow that I don't? Jesus never taught us to do this sort of ministry. He taught us to have faith in being resurrected with him in his life. Isn't our job to minister that truth to people and not to be putting hurdles in their way for them to jump over before they can be clean. Aren't we saying that the cross wasn't enough by promoting this type of ministry?
As I said, I am raising this in order to stimulate thought and questionning, not pre-conditioned answers.

Just another thought:
By going down the route of searching out generational curses, how do I know that you've ever got them all? There might be something way back in the ancient past that I've missed.
Whereas the cross rolled back every curse all the way back to Adam. In dying with Jesus on the cross, that old life has gone, so surely everything prior to that and its spiritual consequences died with it.

Mandy,
Question for you??? Where in the entire New Testament do we find any one breaking off generational curses? Did Paul do this type of ministry? You already mentioned Jesus.
This could be an interesting thread!
Blessings!
Larry

I believe the Word of God is TRUTH and anyone that will take IT/WORD into their heart and let Holy Spirit reveal the TRUTH, then it is final. "Christ has redeemed me from ALL the curse of the law of sin & death, by becoming a curse for me(taking my place). For it is written, 'cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree.' HE redeemed me/us in order that the promises given to Abraham(through) might come on the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith I/we might receive the promise(s) of the Spirit." This says it for me about 'the buck stopping here' with the surrender, death and resurrection of Christ Jesus,,,smiles. Jesus bore IT ALL! And this is what the Word does say many, many places.

Mandy you do have a good point. When we comr to Jesus we are new creatures and all that old stuff from our past is goin. I believe that we need to renew our mind to the Word of God so we can think according to the Word and keep walking in our new life.

Yes Larry, if we get back to the true aspostolic New Testament teachings then it just cannot be found there.
Amen Gayle. Reflecting back upon what happened, it actually diverted me from the truth of the cross.
Amen Pamela. Yes I too believe it's all about the renewing of the mind so we think in line with what the Word says. I had swallowed the teaching hook, line and sinker and was guilty of passing it onto others too.
Thank you all for your contributions,
Love Mandy
