Some Keys to Avoid New Age & False Ministry Traps

The Purified Remnant Focused on Jesus
There is a purified holy "kingdom of God" people coming forth on earth. A remnant people focused on Jesus. A people who do not love their lives to the death. A people familiar with the cross and that are not ashamed to bear the marks of loving Jesus in their bodies and souls. A humble people so desperately in love with Jesus and so desiring to please their heavenly Father that there is no fear in them and no place for the enemy to get his hook in them. These people have died with Christ and now live as Christ lives within them. You won't find them wearing two thousand dollar shoes nor living in luxurious mansions and clothed in excessive wealth taken from naive Christians. But you will find them with always enough of everything to complete the plan God has for them at the time.
Rev 12:11 "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.
Thank God for the part that the church institutions and related schools have played in preserving the Word of God and the basic message of seeking salvation from sin and being born again by the Spirit. Many people are now moving on to the fuller revelation of the gospel of the kingdom that Jesus preached and taught. Receiving increased understanding of what Jesus meant when He said to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. The transition is not always a smooth one as some move ahead of others and relationships change as a new forerunner army comes into being.
Mat 9:35 Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
Mat 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
The enemy is extremely concerned about the emergence of the kingdom of God people. The enemy knows that as the kingdom army comes forth in the love and power of Christ within them that all is lost for him. The destruction of the works of the devil will come about though the "Christ in you" people bringing forth the kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven. The enemy is now going all out with the most cunning and deceptive practices he can dream up. He knows the world is going for the kingdom reality if they really see and experience it. He knows he must design supernatural human good things to look somewhat like the kingdom of God with a focus on something other than Jesus.
There is a massive amount of false spiritual stuff coming forth from the enemy in an effort to replace the fading traditional religious strong holds of lukewarm, man focused, man made, some times demon inspired facsimile of church. A myriad of new age and universal reconciliation stuff under many different names is emerging. The old religions of the world such as Islam, Hinduism, and old mystic sects are rising up to take captive some of those who are seeking more. Harry Potter and other such works have subtly familiarized and enticed many main stream young people toward sorcery and witchcraft.
We now live in a world more hungry for spiritual and supernatural reality than ever before. Multitudes are seeking for much more than they have experienced in the traditional powerless church structures of the past. Without any doubt there is an unprecedented movement toward spiritual things whether they are of demonic or Holy Spirit origins.
How are people to know the difference? This requires more answer than just "by the Word of God". Most of the false spiritualist teachers quote the Bible and speak of God and truth. What are the keys of spiritual discernment that can save the people from falling into the many snares that are now attempting to entrap them? Spiritually starving people will eat anything that looks like supernatural food.
Like the Israelites leaving Egyptian bondage many people today are not prepared for freedom. They have been trained in slavery to sin and religion but not in holiness and spiritual discernment. In Egypt they had task masters to rule over them and feed them. So what if they were in bondage as slaves to flesh and religion and had no freedom to relate freely and intimately with God, at least they knew how to function in the ways of bondage.
Jesus did not come to leave His people in Babylonian servitude of self fulfillment, pleasure seeking, lust and greed. Nor did he come to deliver them into the grip of false supernatural mystical new age universalism half truths. JESUS CAME TO LEAD HIS PEOPLE INTO THE KINGDOM OF GOD. He came to make them into New Jerusalem, His purified Bride, to rule and reign with Him on earth. Jesus through the Holy Spirit is indwelling His people that the will of God will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
False revival and false supernatural mysticism teaching can look much like the true Holy Spirit revival but there are distinctions that can warn us to step back or withdraw. The false may indeed teach and apply the universal laws of God. The universal laws are the same for everyone and will always bring results. New Age and Universalism type teachings apply the universal laws as from the heart of man and implemented by the mind of man. As an example, sowing and reaping is a universal law though it may go by different names in the different groups. Sowing such things as kindness and meeting peoples needs works to improve relationships, material resources and other areas of life. Learning and practicing these kinds of things will make a difference in one's life. But without the reality of Jesus the end will not be abundant life.
Here are a few keys to look for in discerning a true move of God from a mixture or false work.
First is its primary focus on improving our life and meeting our needs? This sounds really good but it is still a focus on man and may be making us feel better without real accountability for our selfish living and disobedience toward God. This is a false revival without JESUS and without the CROSS. If it is not first about Jesus and His taking us to the Father, it is not a true Holy Spirit birthed move. It must be about losing our lives that Christ can live in and through us. And if it is. that will truly improve peoples lives. It must be a Jesus revival.
Luke 9:24 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.
Secondly, is it about defining love as tolerance and passivity toward all lifestyles and religions? Again this may sound good but it is a passionless human endeavor lacking the real love of God. It must be about being in love with God and being pleasing to Him, seeking to be and do according to His desire, only doing what we hear Him saying or see Him doing. Loving God with all our heart and our neighbor as ourselves does not mean being unequally yoked together with everyone. Jesus made a distinction when speaking to the Pharisees. Also He did not open himself to everyone because He knew their hearts. True revival is about becoming one with God.
John 2:24 But Jesus did not commit Himself to them, because He knew all men,
2 Cor 6:14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?
Thirdly is it about our moving up the ladder to higher levels of ministry and authority? Again this sounds good but it is based on a desire to be a part of a human hierarchy of religious rule. If it is about titles and positions, it is related to pride. True revival is about becoming more humble and seeking to serve rather than seeking to be served and honored. Position and titles appeal to selfish desires and can be given or with held to control and manipulate. If the people feel a need to be in a public position of ministry it is not a true move of God. True revival is more about a "broken heart and a contrite spirit".
John 3:30 He must increase, but I must decrease.
Psa 34:18 The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit.
Fourthly, is it about spurious focus and practices. Again many agendas and practices may seem good that are at best side tracks that are not the focus of a true move of God and may be signs of the presence of a spirit of religious mysticism. These may include making the primary focus of the move on political or social agendas. Or things like returning to old covenant religious practices that were a shadow of the things to come. Rituals and ordinances of the past or from other sources can become a side track. The enemy seeks to divert attention to something other that the reality of Jesus and His kingdom coming forth on earth.
Col 3:2-3: Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
Drawing near to God in a one on one intimate love relationship sharpens our discernment. Experiencing the love and presence of God causes us to be able to recognize a counterfeit presence or experience. When we spend more time with God, our spirits become more sensitive to what is not God. The Holy Spirit can lead us to the word and the truth. But again this begins as we become one with God through a one on one intimate relationship with Jesus and the Father through the Holy Spirit.
James 4:8-10: Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.
It is not about leaving a traditional church for another religious form. It is about less of us and more of Jesus wherever we are. Changes should not be made for personal comfort or because we are offended. The only reason and time for making changes is that God tells us it is time to make a change. People leaving churches because they have their feelings hurt are probably going to run into the same thing again somewhere else.
John 10:27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
Kingdom people move quickly when God says to move but remain steadfast regardless of personal discomfort until they hear their instruction from God to move. Seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness means seeking King Jesus. Through the baptism of the Holy Spirit God abides in His temple, His people, and we abide in Him and the kingdom of God from heaven is manifest on earth. Everything our hearts long for is in the kingdom.

Saturated in the Spirit

There is a need to become so saturated in the Spirit of God that the intellect is not required to sift through men's opinions of what is God and what is not. We are in times of transition and further transformation, reformation and revolution. We are in times that are indeed fluid and sometimes turbulent. It is not probable that anyone except the Holy Spirit can guide us through these times. Much knowledge and even the best understandings from the past must bow to the Holy Spirit revelation of truth and guidance establishing the reality of Christ abiding within a people who are abiding in Him.
Men of God can only speak and write with true authority what they themselves have heard and seen God doing and saying. Otherwise there is a dependency on what someone else said or has written in the past. Often teachings (doctrines) have been established from intellectual discernment of the word of God rather than Holy Spirit revelation of the word of God. And sometimes with some help from demons. In this way traditions of men and doctrines of demons are passed on as truth.
One of the major schemes of the enemy is to set up a false teaching that looks much like the truth but with a deadly error in it. The enemy knows that when the error is discovered many people will warn of it as false and the true revelation which looks or sounds much like it may also be rejected and the people will lose the revelation of that truth. Theologians will then come up with an alternate counter teaching from intellectually discerning the word of God or by receiving help from the enemy twisting their understanding of the word. Many good people teach against the truth for this reason.
The word doesn't change but revelation of the word to man is progressive as God continues to remove the cover from our eyes revealing more truth of the word. One factor in further revelation coming forth is the level of purity in the heart of men. Experiencing the loving presence of God in intimate oneness with God leads to innocence, purity and holiness in the heart of God's people which opens the way for increased release of revelation of the truth of the word. The experience of spiritual outpourings of revival and renewal coming forth in recent decades has led to increased levels of brokenness, humility and oneness with God for many people.
The people moving with God in this transition season are not all at the same place in the process, but rather are at various stages and therefore cannot always see everything exactly alike. The people of God who are not at all moving through this transition cannot possibly understand what is going on and will turn to their previous teaching and understanding and reject much of what God is doing in changing His people. They can quickly become affected by a critical spirit and fight against what God is doing while thinking they are protecting the pure doctrines of the church. They will attack just because they hear a certain buzz word from the enemies previous counterfeit copy of the real revelation or because they see a manifestation that they do not understand.
If you notice the guidance that was offered in the above article dealing with discerning false from true moves, deals with the spiritual essence of God being present in true humility and love. The only thing the enemy cannot counterfeit is the true nature and character of God.
Until we have experienced the reality of intimate oneness with God and are consumed in the fire of His love, we must not be found judging with only what we understand from reading what someone else has said. An experience with God often precedes the deeper revelation of the word. After we have lived it, the word comes alive with the truth of it. The experience with God is the reality of the word. Jesus is the word and the Holy Spirit brings us the things of Jesus developing Christ within us.
It is potentially dangerous to judge and condemn or to confirm what we have not yet seen and heard God saying or doing but have only read about on a web site. It is equally dangerous to accept as truth what we do not see God doing or saying just because it is written. We must be intimate with God and know what He is saying and doing and simply obey and reflect what He is doing and saying.
What we think in our natural mind is not important and is not a dependable source of reality. What God says and does is the only dependable reality.
The pure love of God is always a key ingredient to the works of God. However, correction may not seem like love to our flesh even though it is the love of God that brings it.

Holy Spirit has brought us into a 'ministry' situation where some folks are searching for TRUTH, but just as you revealed here, "Until we have experienced the reality of intimate oneness with God and are consumed in the fire of His love, we must not be found judging with only what we understand from reading(which is what these folks are into)what someone else has said. An experience with God(what we are praying for them)often precedes the deeper revelation of the word. After we have lived it..."... This is definitely what will set ALL precious folks free. When we have the Word in our heart, we do know the Lord closely, as we should, and hear His still small voice, so the false, is quickly discerned. To study the Word is to keep it in your heart, so the Holy Spirit will bring it up, and you will see cleary....... with your heart......

Wow! This clarified some things!! That is why He attacks God's character and gets us to either think of Him as harshly angry or as tolerant and turning a blind eye to anything and everything. This an attack on who God is, is the very root of much of the deception flaoting EVERYWHERE, and if the enemy can conterfiet everything but His character, he must then get people to think God is something He is not so people will acept another image of who God is.
The people of Israel made a goldn calf and said, "here are the gods who delivered you from Egypt," and then they said, "tommorrow is a feast unto YAWEH"
We see the very nature of God is perfverted and the Jesus many worship is not him at all. That is why it is imporatnt to be found IN HIM, and being in constant communion, obedience, and fellowship with Him. Honestly the biggest places of contention i have with others is this very point. WHO IS GOD??? Well, lets get to know Him in his fullness and we will see something different then what others like to make Him be...

exactly and one `imaging' ..`vain imagination', producing another god, comes from a skewed view/perception of Love.

yes and that comes from spending time with, knowing Him and not about Him. There is or can be a soul-seeking, searching rather than spirit/Spirit ( that which is birthed of Spirit) seeking, searching. The soul seeking will always produce a pleasantness or flattering to the flesh, a very much man-centered gospel/message. it will seek `peace' which caters to the desire of the flesh(carnal mind).

one thing the enemy will try and do( whether everso subtely or blatantly) is get one's sight or focus on the future `happening' of man or divert from `today.' a diversion from the Glory of God..today. and so alot of teaching or doctrine comes from soul seeking desire of man and what becomes of him, rather than a life lived in today, each moment, in the eternal now that subscribes unto Him the glory and honour and power and might and dominion.
His Kingdom is here, now, today and gives glory in and through the Son to Father...in Spirit and Truth...today. therefore, repent, the Kingdom of God is at hand.

Dear Bro. Ron...
What you have shared here seem stand out to me, confirming something Our Lord has before me to share concerning a current revelation of His winds destroying the work Familiar Spirits having all but taken over all those seeking the Kingdom of God, manifested as a Body of Christ, now given to be open to new, by righteous founded revelation concerning the minds of Christ, also manifested in His Character...
You share below I will note & please allow me to break this down a bit because it is a revelation within itself
There is a need to become so saturated in the Spirit of God that the intellect is not required to sift through men's opinions of what is God and what is not.
This saturation comes when folks are given to set down and look for the correction found in the Word as opposed to, thinking this is a lot of trouble) it more familiar just to do the gifting and get on with things.
We are in times of transition and further transformation, reformation and revolution.
If we have experienced any transition, that will lead to further transformation, reformation and revolution, it will be founded on the freedom we have here in this open place to share the wisdom of God is to applied to honor all that have the patience to set before Christ.)
@ We are in times that are indeed fluid and sometimes turbulent.
This fluidness is manifest in the freedom to honor a current and NEW way of retaining via the Kingdom as oppose to the Familiar manifestation of fellowship where sin is cover over and hidden by leaders who are no will to honor the Way of a Righteous Correction, administered by both the Gifts and the honoring of elders who have experienced the devastation of A Familiar approach where all have a good time.
It is not probable that anyone except the Holy Spirit can guide us through these times
So it is in gathering in the fire of our belief to be patience to set until a Revelation is understood, as oppose to moving in the familiar way of Going on and having church in that in gathering in the Holy Spirit we wait on the this "revelational" Knowledge to become a prophecy and if that prophecy is good "Judged" and the those working on the matter is tested then it needs to be applied in our lives as it will guided us (as Gods Will) through troubling times...
And last...but not at all lease... in this wisdom you share...
Much knowledge and even the best understandings from the past must bow to the Holy Spirit revelation of truth and guidance establishing the reality of Christ abiding within a people who are abiding in Him.
Must Bow, to old an familiar ways of relating to how revelation is accounted for by both the Gifted leaders, but more so... if that same revelation is being applied in their lives as Elders.
This is going through the fire of the convictions, manifesting the corrections of the Holy Spirit and it is not a humanistic friendly approach to have a good time meeting which allows all to be ruled over by some young and or old leader who thinks he of she is Looking and doing good the old fashion Familiar Way of pleasing God.
Again, How we are to honor Our Lords approach is to bow, and as I found myself before our Lord he allowed me to see into how this False Familiar Friendly I love you if you love me approach is the very thing that God will dived in the coming days... that evil approach being exposed as foundation to our (the previous generation). By those responding the Gospel of the Kingdom of God, leading some of this present generation to the truth of the matter, of being free form the bondage of the spirit fear and familiar spirits. , That they have to rule or lord it over those they meet with in order to prove they are Gods special servants at the expense of serving Satan Familiar Spirits.
Meaning that: They all want to minister freely but are given over to do so in the power of Familiar spirits, wanting to all to have a good time being friends and all (experience the power of God)(fearing rejection of each other) never giving over to study the revelations at hand.
The manifestation of this kind of spirit... thinks it already know how to minister Gods Love, yet are not elders in lifes experiences... causing them to think: "Why take the time to dived the Word of God ?"
This all is ok... and I am ok, so you are ok. By doing me a friendly ok thing, and we will all make it to heaven buddy-buddy approach, is foundation to the mindset of the some of the so called younger fear giving over to the understanding that true revelation brings a fire and when it does it gives reason for those: "Lets do the Gifting thing before we do the Righteous things a "Familiar, or current, safe, and back to ruling over folks thing = False Reverence" Toward Godliness.

While this is Ron's posting, I would like to add one thing here, having the mind of Christ is becoming mature and having the ability to discern good and evil. having discernment means we hove grown up into the mature people who are not easily swayed by false prophets and doctrines. It is not about "worrying" about being decieved, it is about becoming ONE with the Lord's heart and mind. In oneness with Him we "Discern" falseness due to the fact we "know" the Truth, which is the Lord Jesus Himself.

I believe disernment is a Battle...(The Battle of Disernment) once you have been given this gift; knowledge, understanding and Wisdom become your truest gifts from God. He who has ears shall hear and he who has eyes shall see. Once given this Heavenly gift to Disern, you must continually use it to find guidance from our Father. For me the veil has been lifted, and I know my Father lives. There is no one like our God. thank you Jesus for leaving your Spirit here so that we may be with Our Heavenly Father once more.

Sadly Ron many pastors , or leaders do not understand this or truly hear his voice in this way . Lord Open their ears to truly know your voice can and will be heard in the Body today and is needed so badly to fulfill your will not man's agenda ! You are a God of NOW .
John 10:27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
Kingdom people move quickly when God says to move but remain steadfast regardless of personal discomfort until they hear their instruction from God to move. Seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness means seeking King Jesus. Through the baptism of the Holy Spirit God abides in His temple, His people, and we abide in Him and the kingdom of God from heaven is manifest on earth. Everything our hearts long for is in the kingdom.
