Laura Silsby Released
KIVITV, Channel 6
PORT AU PRINCE, HAITI - The last of 10 Americans detained while trying to take 33 children out of Haiti is headed home.
Laura Silsby was convicted yesterday by a judge in Haiti, but was sentenced to time already served. She said she's "praising God."
Silsby had told the court she thought the children were orphans whose homes were destroyed in Haiti's earthquake. An AP investigation later showed that all of the children had at least one living parent, who had turned the children over to the group in hopes that they would have better lives.
