One Killed and Six Injured in Land Grab Attack in Pakistan
By Jeremy Reynalds Senior Correspondent for ASSIST News Service
PAKISTAN (ANS) -- Some Pakistani Christians were attacked by influential Muslims during a land grab.
According to Global Christian Voice, the attack occurred at Chak 66 Dina Nath, Kasur. One person was killed, another was seriously injured, five others were less seriously hurt and another individual was kidnaped.
Global Christian Voice said some of the injured Christians were transferred to the Civil Hospital in Phool Nagar, while those with serious bullet wounds were admitted to Lahore's Jinah Hospital.
Global Christian Voice said with help from the police, the attackers occupied 40 acres of land belonging to Christians. Global Christian Voice said police were making excuses not to arrest the alleged perpetrators.
According to Global Christian Voice, one source said that in the last few years Muslims have made several attempts to seize land from Christians, usually succeeding because Christians are a marginalized minority.
On the other hand, Global Christian Voice said, Muslims carry out illegal activities with impunity.
Christians are still in shock and fearing further attacks by the land grabbers. They are also concerned about the way they have been treated by the police.
