1. “Spirit Spring”

Are you sensing an anticipation of a spiritual springtime coming forth this year to coincide with the natural springtime?

There is an intense feeling in me of something exciting coming forth among the maturing sons of God in this natural spring of 2013. It is like a time of fresh beginning of an exciting journey that has been somewhat dormant for a while. It is like fresh seeds sprouting with vibrant new life of purity and praise lifting their fresh green leaves to receive the precious light of God shining down upon us.

For as the earth brings forth its bud, As the garden causes the things that are sown in it to spring forth, So the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations (Isaiah 61:11).

As the earth is revived with fresh life and growth this spring, so the hearts of the people of God can be revived with fresh life of righteousness and vibrant praise to our God. Hope is birthed with each new leaf and swelling bud of a bountiful harvest to come over the next two or three years of spiritual and natural preparation for the turbulent times coming upon the world. Yes, true revival is in the air, and the spiritual trees of the kingdom of God lifestyle are budding with the anticipation of much summer fruit.

As birds singing praises call forth the springtime in the natural, so the adoration of praise and worship calls forth the Spirit Spring season of rebirth and fresh life. The songs of real life in the Spirit of God fill our hearts with confident expectation of the glory of the season before us. We are alive, really alive, spirit, soul, and body alive in God, filled with His righteousness, peace, and joy of productive fruitful life.

The fresh new life of preparation brings cleansing to the land from the past season. The old decayed life of the past becomes the composted soil in which the planting of the Lord will grow to fruitful production. This two to three year season of spiritual and natural productive growth is for the provision of the dark times soon coming upon the world. This is the time of strengthening the people of God for the times of cleansing judgment soon coming upon the people of the world.

Beyond the cleansing from the many manmade gods that are ignorantly worshiped in the secular and religious worlds is the fullness of the kingdom of Christ upon the entire world. Even the Christian religion that was long ago infiltrated with the things of the fallen world will endure severe purging in times of great darkness. Foreign gods are first being removed from the religious church and then from the entire world.

Foreign gods are foreign to God.

A large portion of the things traditionally accepted or tolerated in the Christian churches of the world are things foreign to God. Anything foreign to God is from a foreign god. We cannot continue to live in the great blessings of God nor can we enter into the great season of the kingdom of God while continuing to give portions of our lives to other gods – to things foreign to God.

The time we are now entering is very much like the time of Joshua preparing the people to fully occupy the Promised Land.

Then Joshua gathered all the tribes of Israel to Shechem and called for the elders of Israel, for their heads, for their judges, and for their officers; and they presented themselves before God (Joshua 24:1).

In the first thirteen verses of Chapter 24 of the “Book of Joshua,” Joshua gathers the people and reminds them of all that God had done for them in bringing them through all the victories and blessing to the good place where they are at the time.

Here in the USA and in much of the world, God has blessed us in the same way through many victories and prosperous life. Also like the people of Israel in Joshua’s day we have become a mixture of worshiping the true God and other gods that are foreign to God. Much of what the church adjusted to in centuries past and especially in this day is foreign to God.

Beginning in verse 14 Joshua dialogs with the group and brings a strong word from God. I believe that this word is again coming forth from God to us in this hour. God is speaking a strong word of correction in preparation for the season ahead – a word of whole-hearted commitment to the true God and of completely putting the foreign gods away from us. There are many things that Christian people are attracted to and attached to both in the church religious systems and in the world that are totally foreign to God.

“Now therefore, fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River in Egypt. Serve the Lord! (Joshua 24:14).

It is NOT always good to continue to follow all of the traditions of our fathers that were on the other side of the river from where we are now and where we are going. The Lord is moving His people toward a greater kingdom revelation and expression than our forefathers had in the past. Some of the teachings and limitations from the past that have been carried forwarded firmly in religious church people are foreign to God and must be purged. God can remove what is not of him and return that which is of Him if we will simply lay all our beliefs and practices down at His feet and allow Him to give us back only what is not foreign to Him.

I can well imagine the dialog between Joshua and the people in the following verses being replicated today between God and many individuals and groups.

(15) And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” (16) So the people answered and said: “Far be it from us that we should forsake the Lord to serve other gods; (17) for the Lord our God is He who brought us and our fathers up out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, who did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way that we went and among all the people through whom we passed (Joshua 24:15-17).

The response to their statement of faithful commitment must have been very shocking to them as it possibly would be unto many people today. They were told straight out that they could not serve God, and that He would turn and do them harm after doing them good. Through Joshua, God said that He would consume them if they turned from Him and continued to serve foreign gods.

But Joshua said to the people, “You cannot serve the Lord, for He is a holy God. He is a jealous God; He will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins, if you forsake the Lord and serve foreign gods, for then He will turn and do you harm and consume you, after He has done you good.”

And the people said to Joshua, “No, but we will serve the Lord!”

So Joshua said to the people, “You are witnesses against yourselves you have chosen the Lord for yourselves, to serve Him.”

And they said, “We are witnesses!”

Joshua said,“Now therefore, put away the foreign gods which are among you, and incline your heart to the Lord God of Israel.”

And they said to Joshua, “The Lord our God we will serve, and His voice we will obey!” (Joshua 24:19-24).

The message is clearly to believers. Joshua was not talking to strangers. He was talking to the people of God.

We have been greatly blessed of God, and now as we prepare to enter into the age of the greater fullness of the kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven, it is imperative that we turn from our involvement with everything in our lives that is foreign to God. The Holy Spirit of God is here to help us discern our foreign gods and their effects in our lives. The grace empowerment of God stands ready to empower us to put away every residue of all that is foreign to God in our lives.

Nations, tribes, groups, and individuals that have served God, but now continue to serve other gods, will soon encounter the harm and consuming of God. Even now the nations and the people are beginning to experience the inevitable results of turning from the one true God. It is the nation whose God is the Lord that will prosper.

Experiencing the “Spirit Spring”

The leaves fall from the trees and the tender plants die to the ground through the cold winter. In a similar spiritual season everything in our lives that is foreign to God must fall from us and be dead to us, and then we can experience the fresh new life of the Spirit Spring arising in us – the fullness of the kingdom within.

Supernatural strength from God within will empower and guide us to full spiritual and natural preparation for the dark times of world-changing events ahead that will prepare the spiritual soil of the world for Spirit Spring in the world – the fullness of the kingdom of God that now reigns in us, then reigning on the earth. The kingdoms of this world shall become the kingdom of our God.

The first cleansing of foreign gods is within us, the people of God, resulting in our Spirit Spring beginning this year. The second cleansing of foreign gods is the future dark times of cleansing in the world that will eventually result in the Spirit Spring for the entire world.

Keep on pursuing love. It never fails
and His kingdom never ends.

Trials and Testing

All troubles and trials we endure are opportunities for us to find and further deepen our trust and dependency upon Father. Jesus Christ suffered as well, and in the midst of it learned obedience to His Father, an obedience that revealed the nature and authority of His Father to the earth; doing what He saw Father do and saying what His Father said.

So also, we as His sons are being conformed to His Image as we become fully dependent upon and grounded in Him. He is pulling us deeper into resting in Him as we abandon all that is built upon men’s wisdom and works and find complete confidence and hope in His presence.

You have cause for great joy in this, though it may have been necessary for you to be troubled for a little time, being tested in all sorts of ways, So that the true metal of your faith, being of much greater value than gold (which, though it comes to an end, is tested by fire), may come to light in praise and glory and honor, at the revelation of Jesus Christ…I Peter1:6-9

Perfect Peace

In him there is no fear. Father has been bringing us to the place where worry, fear, doubt, anxiety, agitation, and anger are replaced with confidence and trust that manifests as peace. This is rest: to know the love of Christ, see as He sees, love as He loves, believe as He believes, and in that knowledge of Him nothing is impossible. Secure upon the rock there is no devil, no man, no circumstance, no sickness, no death, NOTHING can cause you to fear. Every giant of this age is already given into your hands defeated.

Our sure foundation is the stone (Jesus Christ) unformed by human hands (written of in Daniel 2) that crushes and turns to dust all nations of the earth to become the great mountain that covers the whole earth. No political plan can stop it, no army can thwart it, no religion can overwhelm it, and no ruler can outlaw it.

Resting in Love

Perfect love casts out fear, and we have come to know the perfect love of God. If God is for us, who can be against us? It is the knowledge of His love for us that causes us to fully love Him, and also to love our neighbor as ourselves. He is trustworthy, and will not let us be put to shame. All of the answers we seek are found in Him. He always waits for the abandonment of ourselves, our fears, and our strivings into His love.

Have Faith

Father says to us today, “Have faith! You are mine! Rest in My love and keep your peace. The arm of the flesh will fail and plans of man will not succeed. I am bringing about My purposes that few have understood that MY name may be glorified. Only trust and rest in Me. Even as Pharaoh’s hardened heart was used to display My compassion for My people, in this hour your circumstances and oppressors will only serve to reveal My great glorious Love for you and My power to save to all of creation.”
