Congress is calling on Secretary of State John Kerry to seek the immediate release of an American Pastor imprisoned in Iran.
Pastor Saeed Abedini is facing a lengthy prison sentence there because of his Christian faith.
On Thursday, more than 80 bipartisan members sent a letter urging Kerry to "exhaust every option." Read the letter here.
It states that Abedini deserves every diplomatic tool in defense of his basic human rights as an American citizen.

Executive Director of the American Center for Law and Justice Jordan Sekulow called the effort significant in protecting a U.S. citizen from incredible torture and life-threatening punishment.
"This letter from a politically broad spectrum of members of Congress underscores the real issue here: the U.S. government must protect its citizens and exercise every diplomatic tool available to secure the freedom of Pastor Saeed," Sekulow said.
"Pastor Saeed's life hangs in the balance. Secretary Kerry's personal involvement in this case is critical to securing the freedom of this American," he said.
Abedini continues to be tortured, beaten, and psychologically abused, according to the ACLJ. The legal group is representing Pastor Abednin's wife, Naghmeh, and their two children who live in the United States.
