Christian Professor holds Proverbs 22:6 seminar for Moslem parents

MINDANAO, PHILIPPINES (ANS) -- A Christian professor in the Southern Philippines was invited by a Moslem village to conduct the first ever seminar on Proverbs 22:6 for Moslem parents on September 6, 2013. The village is one of the largest in the region with 34,000 inhabitants.

Parents at the seminar | Close to 100 Moslem parents attended the seminar and expressed gratitude as this seminar could greatly help them to become better parents to their children.
The seminar covered biblical principles on parenting, obedience to parents (Ephesians 6:1), discipline (Proverbs 19:18) and lasted for three hours.
Most Moslem parents complained that many of their children who are below 10 years old are becoming disobedient and are learning to fight back their elders in the family and they felt some relief and get excited to apply what they have learned from the Parenting Seminar.
The Proverbs 22:6 seminar focuses on the biblical verse Proverbs 22:6 that states, "Train up a child in the way he should go, because when he grows up he will not depart from it."
Zenaida Mohammadsali, the President of the Moslem Parents Council and a known village woman leader said this seminar is significant and timely because this will address how we can discipline our children correctly while we still have the time.
The Christian professor was invited in this village for the second time. The first seminar he conducted was about Self Respect in Sports during the Ramadhan Basketball League exclusive for Moslem athletes in the Southern Philippines. More seminars on Proverbs 22:6 will be organized in the next few months.
