Dear Friend,
Last month, we were stunned to learn that one of our partners could no longer fund our life-saving nutrition programs in South Sudan.
As of October 1, funding has been cut from vital programs that distrubute emergency therapeutic foods like Plumpy'NutŪ and other critical care to malnourished children and their mothers in Warrap State, South Sudan. This means that 20,000 lives are now at stake.
It is my fervent hope and prayer that you would choose to save a life TODAY.
In some areas of Warrap State, the rate of severe acute malnutrition among young children is more than double the emergency threshold. These children are literally at risk of dying unless we replace the funding to our nutrition programs immediately.
Which is why we are turning to you, our faithful donors. With your generosity, we can help these kids. Without it, the abrupt closure of these programs will have disastrous consequences on already vulnerable children.
It's that simple ... and that heartbreaking.
But here's the good news: A gift of just $33 will help ensure that therapeutic foods like Plumpy'NutŪ reach one hungry belly. $33 can provide a child with critical medical attention as their health is restored. And $33 will support a pregnant or nursing mother with the nutritional care she needs.
We are ready to resume these emergency nutrition services in South Sudan as soon as funding is available. But our efforts depend on you.
Please act now to help us save the lives of these vulnerable children and bring them back to health.
God bless you,
Rich Stearns President, World Vision U.S.
P.S. Please pray for the children in South Sudan who are relying on these life-saving programs. Remember that you have the ability to help save a life today with a gift of just $33.
