Parents Outraged over 'Racist' Threat for Islam Workshop
CBN News
Parents in the United Kingdom are still fuming after being told their child could be labeled a "racist" for not attending a workshop on Islam.
Parents in Staffordshire were shocked and outraged when Littleton Green Community School sent a letter stating that workshop attendance was mandatory for students in grades four through six.
The Christian Institute reports students as young as eight were not given the option to skip the class trip.
The letter warned that a "Racial Discrimination" label would be attached to the child's permanent school record if they missed the trip.
"These children are very young but something like that could affect the rest of their lives," parent David Rhys said.
"It was a draconian move and it's left a lot of parents fuming," one mother, Gillian Claridge, said.
The school later apologized for "inaccuracies" in the letter and told parents to "disregard" part of it.
