Search for Kidnapped Nigerian Girls Narrows - Muslims Slaughtering Christians

The search is on Thursday for the teenage girls abducted by the Islamic extremist group Boko Haram in northeastern Nigeria.

Nigerian security forces are narrowing in on a forest in Borno state, near the border with Cameroon where they think the more than 100 girls are being held.

Just after midnight Tuesday, gunmen killed a soldier and a police officer guarding a school in Chibok and abducted the teenage girls.

The school's principle says that out of the 129 abducted, 14 managed to escape and find help.

The kidnapping happened a day after suspected Boko Haram insurgents bombed a bus station, killing 75.

Boko Haram, whose name means "Western education is forbidden," has targeted schools, mosques, churches, villages and agricultural centers in increasingly indiscriminate assaults.

The attacks have led to increased calls for President Goodluck Jonathan to rethink his strategy in confronting Islamic extremism in Nigeria.

On Thursday, Jonathan called a meeting of his top security chiefs to discuss the matter.
