JERUSALEM, Israel -- For the past two years,
millions of people worldwide have been fascinated by blood moons from
four successive lunar eclipses called a tetrad. Many seen them as a sign
God Himself has placed in the heavens.
During a lunar eclipse, the moon turns the color of
blood. It's extremely rare to have four blood moons in a row fall during
the biblical feasts commanded by the Lord.
The last of the tetrad was on display Sunday night
in many places around the world. It's the first one visible in Israel,
appearing in the pre-dawn hours Monday morning.
And like the previous three eclipses, it falls on the first day of a biblical feast, this time the Feast of Tabernacles.
Many who came to Israel to witness the blood moon believe it's a sign of harvest.
"But
we really sense that the Holy Spirit is coming with a massive harvest, a
great awakening, and I believe this red moon is a harvest moon. That's
an indicator of a jubilee of jubilees for the souls of man," Cindy
Jacobs, with Generals of Intercession, told CBN News.
Previous blood moon tetrads -- all falling on Jewish
feast days -- have coincided with major events for Israel and the
Jewish people.
In 1492, the Jews were expelled from Spain and
Columbus discovered America, which would become a safe haven for the
Jewish people. In 1948, Israel was reborn as a modern nation. And in
1967, Israel recaptured Jerusalem during the Six-Day War.
Bob O'Dell co-authored a book about the blood moons, titled Israel First!. He believes they're a sign of good things ahead for Israel, but perhaps troubling times for nations that come against her.
"I personally believe that in the years ahead we
will begin to look at Israel in a new way, that these blood moons mark a
new phase in the life of Israel," O'Dell told CBN News. "It's no longer
about the Israel that is struggling to survive, but now it is about an
Israel that is learning to thrive."
O'Dell says it will be
more than 500 years before four blood moons fall again on the first days
of the feasts of Passover and Tabernacles.
In the early hours of Monday, September 28, the last blood moon
in the current tetrad (cycle of four moons) will occur during the
Jewish festival of Sukkot (Tabernacles). The blood moon, a full lunar
eclipse in which the moon appears red, will be visible from the US,
beginning shortly after midnight on Sunday, September 27, for
approximately one hour and 11 minutes. Even more significantly, the
blood moon will also be visible from Israel.
The current tetrad has high
significance for Judaism and Israel. Each blood moon in the tetrad has
fallen on a Jewish holiday: Passover of 2014, Sukkot of 2014, Passover
of 2015 and now Sukkot of 2015. A tetrad of blood moons all coinciding
with Jewish festivals is extremely rare; only three such tetrads have
occurred in the past thousand years. This is the fourth cycle. According
to many rabbinic scholars, these tetrads always signify turning points
in Jewish history. A prophecy in the Book of Joel states that the coming
of the Messiah will be preceded by a blood moon.
“I will set wonders in
the heavens and the earth: blood and fire and pillars of smoke; the sun
will turn to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the
great and awesome Day of God” (Joel 3:3)
Over the course of the current tetrad, Breaking Israel News
has done extensive investigations into the Blood Moon phenomenon and
its Biblical connections. Find out everything you need to know about

Rabbi Yosef Mizrachi, a popular Orthodox lecturer, has pronounced the
blood moon phenomenon as absolute “nonsense.” Citing Jeremiah 10:1,
Mizrachi further explained to Breaking Israel News that the
Bible explicitly warns the Jewish people not to pay attention to, or be
upset by, claims of doom via heavenly signs. However, blood moon expert
Bob O’Dell has a different take, arguing that the “Blood Moons are a
witness to the Jews of God’s eternal covenant to the Jews, and are
therefore a cause for celebration, even if the nations are dismayed by
them.”
As the fourth blood moon approaches, Breaking Israel News
interviewed blood moon experts Bob O’Dell and Gidon Ariel about the
historical significance of blood moons throughout the past century. They
pointed out positive trends in the Jewish world that had occurred on or
around times of past blood moon tetrads and discussed how the last
blood moon of the current tetrad might impact Jewish and global history.
Blood Moon expert Bob O’Dell came out
with a startling new understanding of the Blood Moon Prophecy. Rather
than seeing the blood moons as signs of Divine Judgement, he said, they
are actually “bread crumbs in the sky” left by God to remind the Jewish
people that He has not forgotten His covenant to restore them to the
land of Israel. Thus, they should be a cause for celebration for the
Jews, rather than fear. O’Dell used Biblical calculations to propose a
theory that the chronology of the Exodus from Egypt fell on the dates of
a blood moon tetrad.
What exactly are Blood Moons? In this short and informative video, Breaking Israel News describes the blood moon phenomenon and looks into the history of blood moon tetrads.
Last March, before the third blood
moon took place over Passover, an extremely rare solar eclipse hid the
sun from view for two minutes over the North Pole on the first day of
the Biblical calendar year. Blood moon expert Bob O’Dell explained to Breaking Israel News
that the solar eclipse in the wilderness of the North Pole, which
belongs to no single country or people, on this incredibly significant
day demonstrated that the Divine Word belongs to all of humanity, Jews
and non-Jews alike.
Well-known mystical rabbinical figure
Rabbi Amram Vaknin, who is known for correctly predicting disastrous
events in Israel, warned that the Jewish people were facing a time of
great judgment and danger as the third blood moon approached in April.
He called for Jews to repent and pray for redemption and showed, using
gematria, the Hebrew system of numerology, that certain numbers and
words related to the blood moon revealed the Jewish significance of the
event.
Count down to the last Blood Moon in the tetrad and be a witness to history as the rare eclipse and Jewish holidays coincide!
