In July I sent a post about my elderly dog...
(from the prior post)...
[...I have a beloved pet that is going to have to be put down, and God is doing a work in me even in this. My animals are my babies and this little one is very old and has been blind in one eye and almost deaf in her ears, but almost overnight she became almost blind in her other eye and became totally disoriented since she cannot see or hear around her. I thought her memory would help her locate things around her, but her age also plays tricks with her memory and she is helpless. Although my own death holds only hope of a bright and glorious day, I do not handle death well of other things. And death of my animals has been full of grief. So I was praying to God yesterday, and trying to give a "sacrifice of praise", because there are times when you don't feel praise at all, but your heart is overwhelmed with grief. And I was telling God of all the great miracles I have seen God do just in this little animal (she has seen wonderful miracles). And it seemed that I heard God whisper to my heart, "Do you want to see one more?"...]
Well, God did do a miracle, and my little dog somehow improved within a short time and God even gave her a strange sonar ability to move around the house and the other dogs even though she was basically blind and mostly deaf. And in the miracle, God gave me 7 more months with my little Yorkie. Yesterday, I found my dog laying on the floor as if she was just tuckered out, and I picked her up and put her on her bed pillow on the floor to rest. A short time after that she seemed to have a stroke or something, so I held her in my arms and she died very shortly thereafter.
So this is both a sad update, but also a praise report. God is still into miracles and my little dog who was on her death bed 7 months ago, got 7 months added to her long life ( and if a dog years vs human years calculate into that, she actually got a few more dog years to her life). She seemed perfectly fine up to her time to go and then it came quickly and seemingly without much fuss. Even in her old age, she was my "baby", so I will miss her but she will be remembered as the little dog in whom God worked miracles!

Kimberly,I feel your pain. I think somehow animals live
on. I had a shetland pony and sadly his time came to be
put to sleep after a couple of weeks illness. He was old
and had certainly enjoyed life with us. He loved to give
rides to children at galas and always enjoyed long
outings in his trap. The vet came to put him to sleep and
at the exact time, a friend had a vision of him running
towards lots of horses galloping to meet him,he turned to
us,gave a little buck and continued on to meet them. At
the same time another friend was given a supernatural
poem which included a butterfly kissing his nose.
Kimberly,I was kissing his nose as he went down.My friend
was reluctant to give me the poem in case I was too upset
The other friend advised her to do so. Our animals live
on in our hearts as sweet memories, they are never erased
and we praise God for their lives and the joy and
happiness they have brought to us as we have given them.
May God Bless and comfort you.
I send my love

So sorry to hear of your loss Kimberley. Losing a much loved pet is never easy. If it is any comfort, and I hope it is, I have had visions of
our beloved animals in the Lord's care. It was a great comfort to us knowing that the Lord cares for them as well.

Thank you both so much (and Brenda, I miss you on the forum).
I could not sleep last night, the ache was too close, but God has showed so much grace even in the timing of her death. I have a couple of days to get composed before I go back to work, then have some days off at the end of the month to spend some time just getting healed in God's presence. And I was home when she died and got to hold her as she passed on. I see God's sweet grace all over it.

You know I was thinking today of some of the things that I loved about my little dog, and one of the things that stood out that I loved about her was that she loved being in my presence and would seek me out in the house with her little "sonar" ability until she found me. I loved that about her...she was constantly seeking me out. And when I thought that, I realized how much God must love it too. It wasn't enough for her to have me come to her, she would seek for me until she found me. And she could not see or hear, but she sensed when I was near and then when I came to her, she would snuggle close.
And I was thinking tonight that there are times when we cannot see God or even seem to hear Him but we keep seeking until we find Him and sense His Presence and then we snuggle close. And I was thinking how much I enjoyed that with my little Yorkie. That was something in her that I loved...that she wanted my nearness to the point that she would seek me out.
How God must love that too!!
…'Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. 'I will be found by you,' declares the LORD...

Kimberly,
How I wish I could put my arms around you and just love you. My heart is visiting you in the spirit. I was just reminiscing the other day on how many animals we have had. We have been through quite a few. The one thing they all had in common was the way they always returned our love. Your precious pets are so blessed to have you for a master.
I will join others who are praying for you in your grief.
I wish you JOY dear one.
Love,
Maggie

You are a joy to me, Margaret!
And I was asking God yesterday to just hold me and I felt His arms come around me and just love on me and comfort me.
