This morning I turned on my computer and the computer immediately showed the message "Downloading updates - Please do not turn off your computer", then began showing the little circle going around and around which meant my computer was "busy". Meanwhile, the computer just showed a blank screen until the updates were completed. And when I saw that, an analogy popped into my mind of our prayer time with God. Sometimes when we are sitting before God in prayer, it seems as if nothing is happening. And I felt that computer message was also a message God was putting into my spirit that sometimes we finish our prayer time too quickly. We feel that nothing is going on so we stop the quiet time. But just like the computer which showed a blank screen yet was downloading essential updates for my computer, I felt God was saying that He is trying to download the things we need into our spirits, yet we turn off the prayer time too quickly before He is finished. We "turn off the computer before the updates have had a chance to complete their process". We think nothing is going on, yet just like the computer which loads updates silently in the background, so is God downloading things quietly into our spirits. And many times we do not give Him a chance to finish His process, because we feel nothing and therefore assume nothing is happening. That time of resting in His Presence and just being still before Him is important; He is still imparting things to you that your physical flesh cannot comprehend. I just want to encourage you to not leave the Presence of God too quickly or assume that nothing was accomplished just because you may not have felt "goosebumps" or any physical manifestation during your prayer time. God is working quietly in the background downloading "your updates"! Don't be too quick to "turn off" your quiet time, He is not finished, let Him complete His work!

Kimberly,
I am so glad I found time to check your post. Just this morning as my first foot hit the floor I heard, "WHOA!"
That sure got my attention. In the softest voice I heard the Lord say that He wasn't ready to get up yet! He reassured me that I didn't even need to talk (I don't think well in the A.M.). He told me that He was longing for more of my presence! WOW! How often do I take His Presence for granted. A tune came to me that said, "You are always on my mind." I believe it was brother Lawrence who attempted to always be thinking of the Lord.
Thankyou so much for the post. I loved the reminder!

Love, Margaret (Maggie)
