Let My Word be your armor, your protection against the
wiles, the devices of the enemy. Prevail against him.
You have FORCE, your armor is your weapon. Use it
AGAINST him. It is not only your protection, it is
your means to wage war AGAINST him. Use it! It is
yours. It is your WEAPON! A missile. ATTACK! Use
force, use violence. I have given you the Kingdom and
its authority against him. PREVAIL and you will
succeed and have success. I have given you the Kingdom
and all its benefits. They are yours to authorize to
their use and purpose.

Great verses, thank you for adding them. They are
encouragement.

Hi Clu!
So you're saying that you picked out a scripture as you saw fit and/or led by
the spirit? And immediately what?
Work out salvation with fear and trembling? How does this apply?
Thank you.

Stacy, if you got that understanding out of that
prophetic word, I do not think the Spirit meant it to
be taken that way. The prophetic word was to use the
scripture to "their use and purpose". They may have
multi-purposes, and the Spirit will open up
discernment as to how to apply them for separate
situations, but I do not believe in using scripture as
buckshot (just shooting out a scripture hoping it
finds a target). Just like if someone gives you a
skillet and authorizes you to use the skillet, the
understanding is to use the skillet as a baking tool
rather than to use it to pry open a door or hit
someone over the head with it. Its use and purpose is
clear. So the authorizing to use God's weapons or
benefits in His Kingdom is to use them with their
intended purpose FOR the Kingdom and God's will
inherent in the scripture. I do not believe people can
use scripture with power if the motive is not aligned
with God's purpose.
Just an addon, I do think Clu's scriptures were
Spirit-led because they were encouragement for this
warfare I have been going through this past year. At
times the warfare has been exceedingly intense and God
has been using different means to encourage me in this
trial. The prophetic Word was an encouragement from
God, and Clu's scriptures were nails in the support so
to speak. They spoke to the heart of the matter and
were very apt for my situation. The Word is power and
life so I thank God for those scriptures of
encouragement.

Thank you Kim!
I asked because I keep hearing two schools of thought when it comes to standing on
the word. One that you can use, in a Christ like manner, scripture and stand on our
authority in Christ. The other is that you have to go to God and ask Him for help and
remind him of what His word says and in Jesus name.
I've also heard that you have to consider what's going on in the story surrounding
the scripture, or scriptures, that you feel you should use. What if your issue or
prayer goal doesn't fit the other parts of the chapter but only that one or few
scriptures?
Last year I found that my prayers were burdensome when I tried to stand in authority
but when I just asked God, reminded him of his word and asked in Jesus name it was
like the burden lifted. So I went from the latter to the former and back to the latter.
Different teaching.
Thanks for the reply.

Stacy, I do not find the two schools of thought
contradictory at all. There are times when I have had
great faith for something and stood in the authority
of Christ and got my prayers answered, but this past
year when the battle became intense, there were times
I did not have great faith, and in those times, I
cried out to God, reminding Him of His Word, but also
telling Him I was leaning on His strength to
accomplish His Word because my own strength was
fragile and exhausted in the severity of the battle.
In Psalms over and over, David cries out to God for
help and deliverance and it says God heard his cries
and delivered him from the enemy that was too strong
for him.
(Psalm 18:17
He delivered me from my strong enemy, And from those
who hated me, for they were too mighty for me.)
Even when we are weak, He is strong in the midst of
our weakness. Psalms helped me more than anything this
past year, because the very prayers of David were my
own in prayer. And I would remind God of those
scriptures in Psalms, but ask for His help and
strength. In either case, it is God watching over His
Word to perform it, so I do not find the two schools
of thought very different, whether our faith in God or
the faithfulness of God accomplishing the end result,
both are using the Word of God to accomplish His
purpose.

Kimberly,
That was a really great reply and very helpful to me. I'll have to think about and
pray over it. Attending Charismatic churches and more conservative churches
I've found teaching to be at different angles. It gets really confusing
sometimes.
Thank you very much!
