Does anyone know, if playing video games is sin or not? I like to think that it isn't, but playing them seems to drain me spiritually. I was so close to God yesterday, and then I played super mario kart with my brother last night, and today, I feel farther away from God, to the point that I feel like I miss Him. I know He is with me, but I want more of Him...

Also, I have a nintendo DS and I'm wondering if it's sin to play it or not? The games I have are not bad games at all. It seems pointless to me to do any solitary activity that doesn't involve Jesus, or make me think about Jesus..

Jess,

There is nothing wrong in itself to play a bit of video games (if there is nothing bad in them) from time to time. It is like people who go to the movies or watch TV once in a while. I myself used to play video games after my conversion ; When I played too much , I felt quite dry spiritually, even tired.

By His Word and His grace, He points to us the things that are eternal , and the things that are of the world disappear and loose of their interest...

It is certainly the Holy Spirit who speaks to you this way...God is good.

Ephesians 5 says to watch over what we do and to redeem the time , and be filled by the Holy Spirit.

You could reduce the time of playing for example , .... until you will find no more interest in it...... Anwyay a good thing you are aware it is pointless, it shows you are a child of God.

God blesses your obedience...
