I have been repented for a certain sin m that I struggled with for many years. It's written all over me, I think people can tell just by looking at me and bring it up to me often. Well I keep repenting and I keep feeling like God is reminding me of it and I keep repenting and I remember in the past thinking that the sin had such control over me that it could very possibly take me to hell. And I'd sin with planning on repenting later. And now I'm repenting. And I remember thinknig that. And I feel like it is too much for me. And I am crying out God have mercy on me a sinner! Then I was thinking. Sometimes people bring it up and it causes me to LAUGH! And when I was pondering this, in my mind, God showed me a corpse, like a mummy (it was gross) that was laughing and sinning. And that freaked me out. That SCARED me. And since then I have been repenting and repenting. And I know Jesus died for me on the cross and that His righteousness exceeds my sinfulness. I guess what I want to ask is am I saved? I just got so scared over the fact that I laughed at my own sin.

And I DO repent of laughing at my own sin.

Hey Jess,

You know an interesting feature about repentance is.... what the word, "repent," means in the Greek.  Some just think that is asking God for forgiveness, but it's much more than that.  The literal meaning is: To turn from our sin and RUN towards God!  That part of running towards God is the most important aspect of repentance!  He is the Eternal Father of all of us Prodigal Sons/Daughters!  His arms are open for us... Let's run like crazy, into those open arms and allow Eternal Love embrace us!

Blessings!

Larry

Jess, there's a scripture that says that if we confess our sins that He is faithful to forgive us of our sins and will cleanse us of all unrighteousness.  Here's the steps:

You confess your sin, which you have done.

God forgives you of your sin AND He cleanses you of all the unrighteousnss your sin did to you in your life (body, soul and spirit).

Now, you're clean and the enemy has no legal right to mess with you again. You could do a conversation like this:

"Devil, I have confessed before God this sin of (fill in the blank) and He has forgiven me and cleansed me of all the filth it caused in my life. So, now I am clean and you have NO right to be here. So, take all your garbage with you. Don't leave anything behind and don't send anyone in your place. You are out of here! Holy Spirit, would you fill this new vacancy in my soul with (whatever is opposite of the sin that got you tangled up)?"

Yes, you are saved, Jess. You've just got to figure out what the lie is that's keeping you bound to this thing. You might ask the Holy Spirit to show you where this thing originated and ask Him what lie you bought into that allowed the enemy to mess with you.

Looks like I gave you two things you could do. I think I'd do the second first and then do the first. Please let us know how you are faring. We are for you just as God is!
