From: SPRING OF LIFE MINISTRY AFRICA

Happy greetings once again from the ‘Pearl of Africa’, otherwise known as Uganda!  It seems hard to believe, but another month has slipped quietly away, leaving us to return no more.  Sandy, myself and all our children are doing just fine, healthy and growing – unfortunately I am growing as well.  We of course are praying and believing the Lord to extend His hand of mercy to those who are suffering from the recent disaster in the USA.

KAMULI CHILDREN’S HOME

We once again had the joy of spending a day with our kids at the Children’s Home in Kamuli district  It was like Christmas in July without snow, with every child receiving their first pair of shoes or runners.  You can just imagine their amazement and happiness!  We also had the privilege of giving out so many clothes that we had brought back with us from North America.  A special thank you to all who donated items to make this day possible.  As far as the construction of the new Home for our children, we have moved to phase two of the plan, proceeding with building the kitchen, storage room and guards room.  The roof should be on soon.  As more funds come in, we will embark on constructing the actual home.

HUGE, NATIONAL EVANGELISTIC THRUST!

R.A.W. – Ready, Able, Willing – This appropriately describes the teams that have been going out in preparation for giving out the ‘Book of Hope’ to every primary, secondary and university facility in the Kampala area.  Please pray for the actual give book distribution, and the resulting salvations as we follow up.   Pray for the training of Sunday School teachers, and the establishment of Sunday Schools on week nights, Saturdays and even Sundays.  We will as well be establishing ‘Youth Club Destiny’ in all High Schools.  SOLMA will first be working in their Jerusalem (Kampala), then pushing on to Judea (communities surrounding the city), and then moving on to our Samaria, where we have a delivery system of over 800 churches in 28 districts of Uganda!  We are expecting a harvest of tens and hundreds of thousands of souls!  Your prayers and financial giving are needed to accomplish this enormous task, but together we can do it, in Jesus name!

SAFARI TIME – DR CONGO AND BURUNDI STYLE!

On the 9th of August, Pastor Nathan Segawa and myself set out on a three week adventure, arriving in Bukavu, DR Congo at 3:00 pm, 10th of August.  Our time was spent in organizing and setting in place the various SOLMA governmental aspects of the ministry.  We had several meetings with the Board of Governors (BOG) for DR Congo, and finally the constitution was ready for all to sign.  What a happy day that was!  Future plans for the continuing development and implementation of evangelistic strategies were set in motion.   Please uphold these men and women in prayer as they seek to move the Gospel of Good News ahead, bringing salvation, training and good works to this nation.  The growth in the number of churches has been very speedy.  Just 5 months ago there were 66 churches, but now they number 127, and more churches are being planted and are joining on a weekly basis.  DR Congo presents quite a logistical problem in that the country is so huge, and roads are almost none existent – but the leaders are resourceful and persistent, and Jesus is with them!

Thank you for all your prayers, we had an excellent crusade and seminar in Uvira, a southern city bordering on Burundi, and over two hundred gave their lives to Jesus!  We also had an excellent seminar with 22 SOLMA Pastors in attendance, plus Pastors from other church organizations.

Then on to Burundi, a stately, Victorian city nestled around Lake Tanganyika, the longest Lake in the world.  Here we again spent much time with the Board of Governors, putting the final touches on the Constitution, and then submitting it to the Government for approval.  Leadership training is always a priority wherever we go, and we are thankful that our Pastors and church leaders are so receptive to the Word of God and how He says to do things.  Pray for this country, for the leadership and for continuing peace.  An interesting aside:  while we were in Bujumbura, Parliament elected one of their members to be the President.  The man they chose, in past months, had been the leader of the rebel group.  This rebel group used to waylay busses and taxis about twenty miles from the city, stop them and order everyone off, then take all the luggages from the vehicle.  They didn’t stop there, but then ordered all to strip naked – I mean completely naked – ordered them back on the bus, which would then continue on its journey to Bujumbura.  So when the rebel leader joined Parliament, he became a Christian, and takes a choir with him everywhere he goes.  And now there will be no more naked bus riders, to everyone’s great relief, including Segawa and myself!

Please know that you are all appreciated and loved, drop us an email and let us know how things are going in your life, bye for now,

Greg and Sandy and all of SOLMA in East Africastill looking for souls, and finding them!!
