Jeff Tyler in the studio | The Night Watch Signs Off
by Steve Eastman, OpenHeaven.com TOP News
ATLANTA, GA - The internet music and prayer ministry's 7.5 year run has just ended. Founder and Manager Jeff Tyler says the main reason is money. "Four months in a row, we had serious problems paying the rent and utilities, and this month, we came up a full $1,000 short." Tyler also says technical problems and his own failing health have played a part in the decision.
The NightWatch.com featured a unique blend of prophetic praise and worship. Tyler doesn’t like to call it Christian internet radio. That sounds too much like entertainment. He tried to combine the best of altar ministry with praise and worship.
This is not the first time the Night Watch has been off the air because of finances. Earlier this year it returned to the internet after a nine month absence. But Tyler is not optimistic about the ministry's future.
"This is permanent. The only way we will ever do Night Watch Ministries again would be with a specific formula and combination of situations. First, my health must improve. I need to be whole physically. This is an immediate top priority. Second, we would have to have some finances going in. Third, we would have to be on radio locally and then on the Internet in that order, as local markets support their own ministries far better than Christians on the Internet. And fourth, I would need a team of at least four people including a quality Spirit-filled Christian sales person."
On the other hand, "Of course, this is all barring a holy visitation from the Lord or a 'burning bush experience' of some kind. He knows how to changes hearts and minds."
Even if it never returns to the internet, the Fire on the altar will never go out. It will live on in the hearts of people who soaked up the presence of the Lord as they kept watch by their computers. Thank you, Jeff Tyler, for being part of our lives.
