"[It] is not a technique, it is not a program, it is not a church
growth plan but something from the Lord."
While
news of the Burlington revival that lasted from Mother's Day to mid-summer in
North Carolina reached around the world, there was another burgeoning revival
that began around the same time and is still growing—this one in the UK.

A mission outreach at the Gate Church in Reading, began on May 29th with
evangelist Tommie Zito, and is reportedly still seeing an amazing harvest.
There are morning and evening meetings with church members doing evangelism
on the streets of the town in between.
At one point, over 1,200 people made first-time commitments or rededicated
their lives to Christ in only three weeks, according to the Christian Today
report.
Yinka Oyekan, pastor of The Gate remarked, "It is not like anything I have
ever seen or experienced before."
Oyekan noted that it is "not a technique, it is not a program, it is not a
church growth plan but something from the Lord."
In fact, this exciting response to outreach started with a prophetic dream
that Pastor Oyekan had some 15-years-ago.
"I
saw a river flowing like a waterfall onto the street from the roof [of] the
church building we occupied at the time," described Oyekan in the Christian
Today report,
"[and] above this cascading river was the cross." (Photo: The Gate

Similarly, the general secretary of the Baptist Union, Lynn Green felt that
the Lord "wanted [to] move in Reading," and got in touch with Pastor Oyekan,
ultimately helping to plan the current mission outreach: "Awakening in the
UK—Encounter at the Gate."
Pastor Oyekan and others are excited that the outreach may become a "full
blown revival" in Reading.
