Another boring night at work, my mind was actively engaged in conversation with Abba father about the state of the church and its seeming propensity for fads. He spoke to me about the mentoring system that is in pratice now based upon the model of elisha who poured water on the hands of elijah VERSUS the model of the greatest mentor Jesus of nazareth. Jesus said i came not to be ministered to but to minister, he got down and washed his disciples feet. I said in my heart that unless a mentor is willing to wash my feet then i would say no thanks.. It is similar to the wedding relationship in that the husband always seems to talk about submission to his authority but forgets his servanthood to the woman he has pledged himself to.. I have had much time to meditate about wedding ceremonys in this season of singleness and i have made a determination to model the ephesians 5 standard. I have seen what i would label as spiritual abuse especially in the african american church, where people that are being mentored are expected to be butlers, valets.. Repent o ones that want to be leaders and come to a first love that can only be accomplished by a pure fervent love , preferring one another in humility.. The proud I know afar off says the LORD of hosts.. Decide whose servants you will be you who desire to be mentored, will you be a servant to a man or will you be my servant?? Do not look at a man or womans giftings, look at their character when they are alone, the determining factor should be how much of MY PRESENCE Is in them, do they look like me, do they behave like me.. Come out from among the confusion that comes from having your eyes on man, look unto me and i will give you rest for your souls. Turn your whole attention to being a servant those who desire to be great. Josephs your time to arise and be fruitful shall come but i am teaching you to be a servant to the jealous ones, to love them inspite of their evil attitudes. Come unto me my children and have one Father, set under my precious Spirits teachings. There are those who long for a mentor as israel lamented for a king to rule them , remember children i am a jealous God.. Draw Close and recieve fresh manna and instructions from me.. I desire to do a new thing in many of your lifes but you are witholding it because of your love for the old wineskins..

I talked to a newer holy ghost touched believer the other night. He told me a story. He was begging God to give him a mentor. He kept praying and asked God for someone to mentor him, finally the Lord spoke to this new excited believer, "Do you want Me to Mentor you or is there someone else you would like...."

many love using the mentoring concept...regarding how in our service to one another we impart of Him (rather He imparts thru one of Himself to another)  I can get what they are stating, however for me a part of the mentoring concept brings along with it that constant status of being either the 'mentor' to the 'mentee' who seeks to attain the attributes and mind of the mentor...

i rather love the concept of the Father heart of God flowing thru ones of us in order to equip and raise up very unique and different persons in His care, who will be encouraged and challenged to grow up and beyond and even differently from those set temporarily in the place of flowing His heart and mind.  A father heart would not be capable of locking a younger one into a certain status or relationship of being the 'understudy' or requiring they function in all the same thinking and ways of the 'mentor'...fathers and mothers in the kingdom are not in a permanent position of standing and do not produce 'mini-mee's' every one brought along the way is different and unique and goes a different path in maturity.

a mentor to me produces more of a replica and understudy...only our God deserves that lofty place in our lives -- yes.

And He is also the ultimate Father who remains the Father of all...even for those who are Fatherless...but He calls for family and brotherhood and not mentors and understudys...among His kids.

Another way i like to see it is that those who are teaching or leading others with a fathers heart will show them how to make Father the source and life they must receive from. If you have truly heard and followed the Lord and have been "mentored" by Him, then any "mentoring" you do would simply be teaching others to be "mentored" by Him and not men...

I feel i need to share that there is a balance, we do need to be accountable. I dont want to encourage anyones flesh. My concern is that some prophets/apostles consider themselves an island unto themselves. I believe the LORD is speaking to my heart as i write this that there is someone who has been wounded abused by those over them in authority and are in a cave of bats. The bats will leave when you learn to trust the body again dear servant of God. Abba may you seal the wounds, i curse the cankering sores, cauterize them with your consuming fire and apply the balm of gilead in Jesus name. May the heart of your servants be totally healed Abba, may the deep roots of rejection and broken trust be purged out and the new ;planting of love trust mutualsubmission come forth. May marriages be brought to a place where spouses can trust one another again..
