You will never, ever find a better friend than God. In every person their is a hunger for a totally trustworthy friend. The Lord is such a friend. God's heart hungers for a friendship with you. It is impossible to state what a value our dear Lord puts on friendship. He has many children, but few friends, and even fewer close friends. Nothing brings more joy to the heart of the Lord than to ask Him to form a friendship with you. He will do it if you ask. He loves all of His Children equally, but when you mention the name of a friend to God, His heart leaps. We are what make heaven heaven to God. He gets more joy out of us being in Heaven with Him than we get being in Heaven with Him. But His Love compels Him to seek friendship with us even when we are down here on the earth. Did you know He looks lovingly at you when you sleep, eagerly anticipating when you wake up, so that He can spend time with you? Did you know that He not only loves a cheerful giver, He IS a cheerful giver, and enjoys surprising His friends with special gifts? He looks for the reaction on your face when you receive it. If you are thankful, you gratify the deepest desire of His heart. All you have to do is ask Him to invite you into a close friendship with Him and He will! Ask Him and you can walk the whole day arm in arm with Him in a close friendship. He will point out things to you as you walk through the day. See that little patch of flowers over there? You've never seen it before - I made it bloom today so that your day would be brighter. Did you know that you and you alone limit how close you can walk with God? He will take you to Heaven every now and and then. He will show you things about His Plan. He will whisper words of encouragement to you when you need it. He will prompt you to turn the radio on just at the moment a special song comes on, to lift your spirits. On your darkest days, He will prompt someone to come by your house and give you your favorite meal, just out of the blue. He will show you things about Heaven, about His Bride. He will reveal secrets hidden since the beginning of time, just for your ears. When you cry, He cries. When you rejoice, He will rejoice with you. You will understand the true joy of living when you walk in friendship with God.

Beautiful word.. It is nice to think about how much
he desires our friendship with him. At church
a few years ago they showed us a video of how
God sees us rushing around throughout the day and
we are always so busy.. that sometimes we ignore him
and forget that he is always there for us. He wants us
to be in communication with him throughout the day.
He wants to help us with even the smallest details of
our lives. He wants to be our best friend. :)

I keep having friends tell me that a parent can not be a friend to their children that they have to be only parents. But it doesn't seem this way with God. He is our daddy, friend and anything we need Him to be.
