29A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge
in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and
lifted it to Jesus' lips. 30When he had received the drink,
Jesus said, "It is finished." With that, he bowed his head
and gave up his spirit. John 19
(I was shown an image of Christ and he was bent-over with
the cross beam being carried upon his shoulders. His head
was down with the weight of it.)
"Many people have known that I have carried a cross for them.
But some have heaped more upon the cross then what they
have needed to do. I did carry the cross for you, says the
Lord. Why must you place more weight upon it? Accept the
work that I did for you on the cross. Don't try to carry it
all again. To be sure, you must pick up your own cross
daily; but don't heap more upon that cross than you need to.
It is not the same cross that I carried for you. It is different
in appearance. Mine was old and weathered, and it bore
the sins of the world upon it. You are to be identified with
me, but you don't need to sacrifice what I have sacrificed.
For I did a finished work. At the end of that tortuous time
I said that it was finished. So accept the finished work that
I have done for you."
