"DO NOT LEAVE YOUR POST"
May 29, 2011
22:30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none. Ezekiel 22
(One person cannot see everything around them that is going wrong. This is particularly true for a body of believers. Much of what involves the watchman is to be a watchman and to stand upon the walls and the post that he or she has been assigned to. We all are called to a certain post or place of ministry. The danger sometimes comes when we think that we should venture out into other territory and minister in a different way. It’s also common for prophets and prophetic people to look so far out into the landscape that they cannot see immediate danger that is right before them. We need the eyes of everyone to see when danger is coming. )
“There are things that have come into the camp of the Lord. I tell you that there are other influences that have come into the camp. I AM the God and Father of the church and I tell you that the walls have been breached. For many who were standing at their posts were too busy looking out into the distance that they did not see the skirmishes below.
This is true of many of my watchmen; for they have been so busy surmising the landscape beyond, that they did not see the trouble that was right at the door. You need the aid of others so that the eyes are all around the camp. One person’s eyes cannot see everything. So watchmen, stay at your post. Do not leave, nor venture out into other territory. “

If there is one thing I have learnt and that is to do what God has given you to do. No more and no less. Follow the leading of the Spirit, pray as He gives you to pray, do as He directs when He directs you to do it.
Don't be seduced by what you think you have to do, or turn your attention to other things even if they seem important. If it isn't your God-given responsibility to deal with, then don't do it.
Don't pay attention to the noise over there, when you have things here to deal with. Don't be distracted by things happening in the world. Just focus on the task God has set before you. The other things God has in hand and will appoint the right people for those tasks.
You however are the right person for the task God has required of you to do. Doing that is the most important thing you can do even if it seems very small and unimportant in your eyes to something over there. You don't know the importance of what you do to God.
I have discovered that often it is the smallest things that you really thought that were of no value that had the profoundest effect on some one, or on the outcome of a major event elsewhere.
Shakespeare had it right when he said 'for want of a nail the battle was lost'. God seldom gives us the whole big picture and it is our responsibility to do the part He has assigned us. We don't see as He sees, or know as He knows.

Thank you, Alexa, for saying this. It is such a good reminder! There have been so many assaults seemingly coming from too many sides it is so, so easy to get distracted if we're not careful.
