Hi Jim. I am a geology student, so I am very interested in earthquakes and volcanos. I was just reading your post and was intrigued by it.
I was just researching online and found something very interesting.
There is an active volcano in Mexico about 70 miles outside of Mexico City named Popocatepetl.
This name comes from the Nahuatl words popôca 'it smokes' and tepçtl 'mountain', meaning Smoking Mountain. The name Don Goyo comes from the mountain's association in the lore of the region with San Gregorio (St. Gregory), "Goyo" being a nickname-like short form of Gregorio (Greg)
(The local people seem to call this volcano "Don Gregario" or "Don Goyo".)
The name "Gregory" means "to be watchful, to be awake".
This seems to line up with your dream.
Here is the Wikepedia link if you would like to research it further:

Here is a New York Times article from today as the volcano apparently has been showing activity over the past few days (including today)

Blessings to you!
