As citizens who reside in geographies which enjoy individual freedoms and liberty, we must understand that there will always be conflict within economic and political institutions. The paradox that freedom and economic conflict coexist is a social dynamic that I have tried to gain some form of understanding as I sense it will become prophetically advantageous as the days unfold. Different political and economic institutions have different consequences in regard to the prosperity and continued growth of a nation. The consequences of choices defines how that prosperity is distributed and who has the power (globally speaking).
The economic growth which can be induced by inclusive institutions creates both winners and losers. This was clear during the industrial revolution in England which laid down the template of prosperity that we see in wealthy countries today. It centered on a path of technological changes in steam power, transportation, and textile production. Although mechanization led to increases in productivity and income which ultimately became the basis of lasting economic growth - it was bitterly opposed by many at that time. This was not due to ignorance or short-sightedness. Actually, it was quite the opposite. Such opposition to economic growth has its own preservationist logic.
Sustained economic growth and technological change is accompanied by what we can call, "Creative Destruction." Creative Destruction replaces the old with the new. New technologies attract new resources from the old ones. New companies take business away from the established ones. New technologies make existing skills and machinery obsolete. The process of economic growth and the inclusive institutions on which it is based create winners as well as losers in the economic marketplace which naturally manifests in the political arena. The fear of Creative Destruction is often at the root of the opposition to inclusive ideals and slowly manifests as extraction based ideals in the political sector. Inclusive institutions and societies promote incentives to continually progress in ideas and these ideas are protected by the value of private property, the rule of law, patents, and freedom of exchange.
Extraction based institutions will always move toward taxing the masses to preserve outdated economic and failed political systems. I recognize the fear of Creative Destruction in both liberal and conservative camps. Actually, I recognize this to the same degree if not greater on the far right or within the conservative agenda. A good example is the environment or resistance to wind, solar, and other alternative energy sources which are subtly but aggressively hindered by the various lobbies. The list of big business and financial sector fear and protectionism is extensive. Resistance to change for the preservation of institutional power and economic resources will soon come to a defining point in America. Encouraging productivity of a nation's citizens as well as allowing people, financial sectors, and companies to fail must be embraced. I realize this is a hard pill for many to swallow. However, history has proven that sustained growth and quality life hinges upon Creative Destruction which gives way to new life.
The spiritual applications to this message will be just as applicable as we move forward into the awesome days ahead. Old and religious mindsets must experience Creative Destruction and give way to new life in the Spirit in bringing sustainable growth within the church - the kingdom of God on earth. A glorious church has been prophesied and foretold. It will only occur and the current stains removed through a complete destruction and bankruptcy of the religious institutions which have promoted preservation and persecution.
