The Amos 5 Call to God's Israel (the Church) December 1 2014
There is now under way a call from heaven to us as God's people to
adjust our ways.
This is a very corporate, yet also completely individual call. Even
individual groups and affiliations. For the individual affects and
influences the whole in ways we are largely unable to comprehend.
Therefore no one is totally exempt. And no one is alone in this. Not
even the ones who have distanced themselves in some fashion, for all
are connected and involved.
Yet there is a necessary separation to be done by God in the near
future if some refuse to make this course correction.
The seriousness of the situation cannot be overstated. If we as a whole
do not change our ways, then the result will be total annihilation.
Without a turning and transformation on a corporate level, the Body will
no longer be the Body of Christ. This is why the tragic separation must
occur for those who hold fast to unrepentant attitudes.
This also applies to groups, congregations, ministries, persuasions, or
even regional expressions. What was once great in numbers and
influence will quickly dwindle away to almost nothing. The people will
scatter and wander. What may seem large and powerful now, will come
to naught in this season, unless major change occurs.
In fact the only hope for the survival of the Body of Christ is to seek the
Lord. We are not to resort to places of former visitation, or victories, or
outpourings and seek to revisit or recreate these. They will fail us. We
are to seek Him and Him alone.
What is in need of complete transformation and change in order to
remain alive, and to fully live? It is the nature, heart and character of
Christ. Seek to be changed into His character and likeness. The
Church cannot in fact exist as the Church, without walking in Christ's
character and nature.
Otherwise it is not God's church and as such will cease to exist, having
fallen away from Him. It's heart rending, seeing that many once
respected and productive ministries will completely flounder and people
of regard will lose everything because of refusal to seek the Lord and
His ways above all else.
These are some signs of the desperate brokenness described in Amos
5, and they apply today:
Lack of integrity and hatred of anyone who cries out for it. This would
include underhanded ness and ulterior self seeking motives.
Blacklisting those who blow the whistle on such activities.
Burdening as well as neglecting the poor. Charging so much that the
poor are isolated and left out by their lack of ability to pay for certain
privileges. Ignoring their plight and instead expending resources on self
serving investments.
The result will be loss of all that has been carefully and meticulously
built. I would venture to say even actual buildings will be lost.
These are issues of the heart and character, these simply highlight an
inner and foundational brokenness that many have come to view as
"normal" and to be overlooked.
It's time now to seek first God's kingdom and righteousness. Seek to be
as He is in every way. Seek the change that is necessary but
impossible short of The Lord Himself remaking us. In other words seek
Him for Himself at an unprecedented level. Acknowledge the fact that
we don't have it together as we once thought. Not doing so will result in
loss of what we thought was the Lord's work.
All of the noise and fanfare and gatherings of all shapes and sizes, all
the activity and religious show of support mean absolutely nothing to
Him while the heart is not seeking Him with all focus and energy.
Otherwise all of the enthusiastic seeking for a visitation of the Lord, the
day of the Lord, will be met with darkness and danger and fear upon
fear. There will be no refuge found in it unless and until a right heart
has been restored.
We often major on doctrinal correctness in our minds, however this is a
clear call for raw heart seeking after the Lord as a person and a
seeking to connect with His heart of love. This will change the behavior.
Right doctrine is not the first priority here. It is the Father wanting
desperately to recapture the hearts of His people and restoring them
unto Himself and unto one another. In this is life and functionality.

Hearing the same it's time to press in and focus on him.
Heard yesterday; will no one stay awake with me, Peter John James.

Thanks. This was a hard one for me to put out there. Hard to explain
how I felt inside. It was heart rending knowing that it is likely that some
may be separated out, not known in heaven. I know this is not what
God desires, but would be unavoidable. I'm hoping we all seek Him and
are changed.
