So you say that you hear God’s voice clearly. You say that
you’ve had a dream, a vision, about our future, and our
nation. You say that you know that you’re not mistaken –
those words were so clear and resounding…..
But now I watch you, I see your heart and your actions, and
I know where you’ve been. I watch as you demean others,
and celebrate your hero.
I know how these things have appealed to your heart, but
actually, it’s your own flesh that has celebrated these
things.
You’ve chosen a path now to substantiate your claim. And
now with your words and folly, you’ve decided to put down
those who disagree with you. Surely, you are right in your
own fervor?, you say, because your zeal proclaims the
allegiance to the truth of these things.
You say that you are a prophet – someone who has stood in
the council of the Almighty.
You proclaim your years of service to these things. You
say that surely, you could not be wrong, because of how
long you’ve had dreams and visions. And yet your pride
betrays you, and yes, even your ears have become dull of
hearing.
“Those others that have heard what I have heard could not
be wrong,” you say. But you don’t know that only a small
handful have heard the truth of these things. Only those
who have been willing to go through the fire, and have
placed their own lives upon the altar are in a position to
truly speak those things that are coming. “For many are
called, but few are chosen,” Matthew 22:14.
These are those who don’t proclaim one political candidate
over another one, but have chosen instead to look to the
One who speaks above all. These are those who have chosen
not to jump upon the band wagon of their favorite “chosen ”
one, but instead, have left the debate, and have taken the
wiser path. These are those who have known true wisdom in
their heart of hearts, and have decided to follow her
instead of man.
What is popular among some, is not necessarily true. Even
following someone who you think is true, be he a man or a
woman, cannot always be right. All are not infallible.
You see, the enemy laughs and he rejoices in how he has
divided many. He loves to see the quarrels and the
fighting. He adds more each day to his arsenal, as the
chosen ones continue in their demise.
You see, it’s not all complete yet – this prophetic time
table that we are living out each day. Some are given this
piece and that one, and even when the edges of the image
appear to be seen, the puzzle is still far from complete.
No matter how great the dream, the vision, or the prophecy
seems, it still falls short of what is truly coming.
So let’s stop the bickering and the comparing. Let’s throw
away our prophetic crystal balls, and instead, look into
the perfect word of God. Let’s look to Him, who is the
author and finisher of our faith.
Train your ears to hear. Don’t assume that someone is
tried and tested. Don’t follow the most sensational
prophecy just because it sounds colorful and dramatic.
Truth is not always embedded in the most intricate thing,
but is often seen in the simplest of words and phrases.
Don’t follow the crowd, or even those that may sound right.
They may be appealing to your senses, but the truth is far
from them.
“For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face;
now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I
also have been fully known,” 1 Corinthians 13:12.
Amen.
